It was almost one of those nights you can't explain at Hannibal tonight. River had the lead in the 4th and just quit making shots the wrong time.

Great game to watch with kids from both teams flying around the court and diving on the floor. What a rivalry game should be.

What happened to River in the 4th quarter? Did Monroe step up or River step back? The newspaper said the Pilots were ahead in the 4th.

Good question. River missed a few shots they should have made, but MC backed off the pressure either by design or because of foul trouble and played better defense as well.

MC scored 20 points in the first 4 minutes of the game. River hung tough and cut it to one at the half.

Dierkes played very well and a few of the young River kids (Caretti, Armann and Amos) had good games.

Burkhart made the big shot that put MC ahead with a 3.

Getting Brown in foul trouble early was big. Duffy got in foul trouble later on. For River, Flannery and Amos both got in foul trouble too and that hurt them guarding Kuhn as well.

How did River play so close to the mighty Cadets? River fans said they played very well on defense and hustled all over the floor. Was the close score a surprise?

River played hard and actually had a chance in this one. I would say FF played a C- game, but I'll credit River with causing some if that.

Lang and LeGraen each got 2 fouls and sat the last few minutes of the first half. 21-18 at the half but River just missed too many easy shots to get away with it. Each team had 14 field goals. Cadets made up the difference at the line.

Caretti and the sophomores are getting better, which is a good sign for the future for River.

As I said in the other thread, run FF off the 3 point line and you have a chance. River just didn't have anyone to stop LeGraen on the drives.

Didn't go to the game vs River but the Cadets have not been great on the road. I don't know what it is but they have not traveled well at all.
