You are not the only one that thinks this. I was wondering the same thing. Looking back through the years, 6 football coaches and 5 or 6 basketball coaches and no one has really had success. However, Tripllett has one at multiple locations and was the most successful coach in RV history and Wolfe obviously won at many places. Stout was a winner at Belpre. So in all the years and all these coaches, no one has been successful. Maybe it ain't coaching?

The tvc u call so terrible lol do your homework once again the teams that u say r so bad still seem to find a way to beat rv really! Let's look brief history just brief don't want you to strain yourself here. 11'12' season real brief since were discussing coaching rv up six on southern at home mind u end up losing the lead going into o.t. for u o.t. means overtime. Rv never scores in 4 min. And southern win by 15. 12'13' season rv leads southern almost entire game ends up losing. Oh and he lost to Jackson in 12'13' and if your going to hang your hat on jv and Jr. High success then your the ones enabling the system to grow. Anyone that ever cares about those kinds of records don't see the big picture. EVER! That's just a glimpse of games lost by your beloved hero.if u wanna keep going I can throw up more blown games than you can won games and that doesn't take a math teacher to educate but hey by all means we'll all continue to stick to the facts of strengths of leagues and schedule and so fourth and bevo will continue to shoot from the hip and throw out disclaimers and smoke screens whatever it takes to make himself feel better about a bad situation. Of course then again that's what most people tend to do is look for excuses for why things don't work which that's fine its human nature so what happened these last two yrs. I'm sure there has to b another simple excuse to why they only won a grand total of 8 games under the grand wizard. Because you've blamed everyone else that's ever been there. People always wonder why a great coaches never want to come to rv well if they read what bevo is preaching they laugh and turn a blind eye to ignorance.Good luck rv and don't drink whatever kool aid bevo's drinking! Plus we will all b aware of bevo's next thought course that might take another three days good thing we didn't pay to hear him preach or was it rant about something its been so long. The great thing is he will return yet with another outstanding report from the peanut gallery!
lol, you took the time prob an hour or so to type that and never said a thing! wow! I hope you don't coach or teach any where.
your def in your own world and it is unpopulated judge whopner!
thanks for the insight

If anyone was wondering what the problems are at RV all they have to do is read this thread. Explains it all.

I understand interviews were Friday and a decision on the hire has been made. Should be hired at tomorrow (I think) nights board meeting. I feel sorry for the person stepping into this mess.

The problem is you will be able to run your program for a while..... then the parents, students, and administration will take over and your identity as a coach is gone because that program is controlled by everyone else. The board meeting is tonight.

Just heard that Aaron Quinn from Rio Grande is the new head coach for RV. Tall guy like 6'7". Interesting...... Nobody saw that coming I don't think? The few times I've talked to him he seemed like a great guy, wish him success.

Heres some older info on him:

It seems to me he might be even more strict than Hill based on his background. If people at RV couldn't handle Hill's style, how is this gonna work?

OK this will upset some but it's the truth. Maybe he's the best guy for the job?.........Turns out Quinns wife is Lovell Forgey who is related to The Deels/Burgers/and yes The Twymans! As in the freshman that got to start last year at RV whos daddy is on the school board and helped make this hire. I know the dad has commented about transferring the son away from RV in the past so I guess they let him hire his guy to stay? Looks like the "good ole boys club" is still alive and kickin at RV! LOL

WOW! This is why RV will never have any success. This guy hasn't even stepped on the court and is already getting hammered. kidsarewhatmatters needs to change name to mykidsarewhatmatters. Too many parents at RV afraid someone else's kid is going to get an advantage on their kid.

Exactly. The guy has played college ball and has also coached college ball, but isn't quite qualified to coach at RV besides getting "family help"? Really? I have been around here for a long time, I was not aware of the Forgey/Deel family lineage. I could be wrong on that front. And the Twyman kid is one of two starters returning. He started as a freshman, why would the dad need to get "his guy" to ensure his sons success? Anyone that knows anything about the game can see he will be a key returner next year.

Lets get behind this coach, his staff, and the players. Not have any negative talk whatsoever so the players can be proud of their new coach. Give the guy a chance. The players deserve that much.

I didn't say he wasn't qualified. In fact, I bet he's very qualified, but will he be accepted? You mention he coached in college. I know this and also know he was a State Trooper. From this background, I'm betting he will require his players to be very disciplined. If people complained about Hill, I question how receptive people at RV will be to him in time.

My retort wasn't directed at you. It was to the person who implied the only reason he got the job was he is supposedly family in some round about way to a board members. I imagine he will be disciplined. I hope he is.

Gotcha. I agree. This is Gallia County. Every coach is gonna be related to somebody.

Actually no..... There were multiple applicants that were NOT "related" in some way to a school board member or administrator..... But they were never going to get proper consideration of course. This is rv we are talking about after all.

seohhoops- I'm not saying that was the ONLY reason he got the job, just the main reason!

Blizz- I understand what you are saying. I doubt if the kids at RV will appreciate the way "Sarge" runs things! Hills way didn't work so.......

See thats where you guys are missing the point. By hiring him the board satisfies Twyman(so he doesn't take his kid to Alex or Athens like he's talked about doing) and it APPEARS that they are making the right hire even though they know that his style of coaching won't connect with the kids. Fact is they just don't care whether rv sports succeed or not.

Good luck. I'll just sit back and watch but don't forget that in the end kidsarewhatmatters!

I understand what you're saying and I totally agree with your last sentence in the next to last paragraph.
