Re: TVC says no to Jackson and Warren
I took the "yes" vote to mean that they wanted the league to go to three divisions which would allow them to move "down" to the middle division.

Ground Buck...The Buckeyes have always been a hard nosed football program and the fact that they said YES to Warren and Jackson speaks volumes. Much respect

The Buckeyes never back down from the big boys.Viking96 wrote:Ground Buck...The Buckeyes have always been a hard nosed football program and the fact that they said YES to Warren and Jackson speaks volumes. Much respect

The last vote was Athens, NY, and Southern. NY was the only one for jackson this time because adding two teams would make an 18 team league with 3 divisions of 6. NY wants that middle part. I do wish the TVC Ohio would add one more member. 8 is the perfect number

No they don't. For them to say bring it on when larger schools said no way to schools the same size tells me the buckeyes are not scared of anyone. They're proud and confident and with good reason.

Are we going to see backlash against the SCOL for not accepting jackson? They must be afraid too!
Re: TVC says no to Jackson and Warren
Too watch travel time for the SCOL to play Jackson
Don't think Jackson would have any problem going independent and getting a 10 game schedule.

Doable for varsity, but definitely not an easy task and get ready to travel.noreply66 wrote:Too watch travel time for the SCOL to play Jackson

The problem remains (if talking football) finding those 10 games (or 9) for the freshman and JV squads to get experience and playing time and continue a solid program.
The problem (with all sports) is just the lack of any league championships, awards, and all the other benefits being a member of something has.
Independent is not a good long-term option, and hopefully only a short-term problem if it comes to that.

Jackson is going to end up playing as an independent. Nothing against Jackson, but why would any local league want to grant them membership. Basically every town/school district in Southeast Ohio has shrunk except for Jackson. It is unfortunate but Jackson now = Big Fish/Little Pond.

Not sure why you keep posting this, but it is not accurate. Athens has voted "no" on expansion every time it has come up since they have been in the TVC.RAIDER6309 wrote:The last vote was Athens, NY, and Southern. You are correct. So I hope someone from Jackson calls Davey and gets that game scheduled. The principal at Jackson and Davey are good buddies, so this should be an easy thing to get done. So do it already.Viking96 wrote:Ground Buck...The Buckeyes have always been a hard nosed football program and the fact that they said YES to Warren and Jackson speaks volumes. Much respect

Was told Jackson has not contacted NY about a game. They must not be too worried about their schedule then. I would think this would be a game they would want to play?
