Should be a great night of games at the Convo indeed! I believe Warren could honestly big a bigger threat this year at the convo as opposed to last year when you they were basically relying on 2 to 3 guys score the ball. This year you have 5-6 guys that can score the ball and not have to rely on a few guys to do it all.

Got to disagree with this one fellas. How can you say this team is more talented? Three All District players and a 1st team All State selection on last years squad. Not more talent but the scoring is more spread out along the lineup. It's not like Kidder, Henrhorn Dennis and Seth Hall just learned to score but rather a team decision to share the ball and spread the wealth. If I can say one thing that Coach Maddox and staff do well is identifying and assigning roles then getting the players to accept those roles. I don't know of a coach alive that wouldn't ride Evan French till they turned the lights out in the Convo. That recipe won 83 games in the "French Era" 2 district title game appearances a regional title and a trip to the DII Final 4.
The last 3 years in WarriorNation has saw 3 completely different teams fielded by the BIG BAD BLUE. That's a testament to the hard work and the ability of the coaching staff to put together a plan based on the skill set of that particular team that's why Warren is making their 8th consecutive trip to The Convo. It's a great time to be a Warrior Fan.

GO BIG BAD BLUE

A very wise person made this comment about the Athens Sheridan game, and was proved correct:
Ground Buck wrote: If the coach stays out of the way, and listens to the ex OU coach, Athens will run away with this. If he gets in the way, or refuses to listen, Sheridan has a chance. Now, if those "danged Glouster refs" have the game, then all bets are off.
The same will be true at the Convo IMHO.

Pretty sure there are only 2 games! LOL
I'm guessing the 3rd game is the District Championship game, but I can't talk for FF.
This might be a thread drift but there can be three games if you come to the Ohio women's game at 2PM, park for free, go uptown for refreshments, and then come back. The Bobcats are a joy to watch if you like team basketball on both ends of the court. Bob Boldon has took over a team that won just a few games two years ago and turned them into the MAC champs.

There are vouchers out on facebook for $2 tickets and even Pfloyd won't need to sit in the cheap seats....I'll even cover his ticket for him! AND, it has basketball 30 for the women's team all season.

What an excellent slate of games on tap for Saturday night! I hope my warriors can pullout a victory against the Falcons and move on to the district finals against two quality opponents. Go blue!

The Great and All Knowing PFLOYD once again nailed it. Using those PFloyld Rankings he got 3 of the 4 DII team correct. Minford last second shot to top Circleville keep The Great One from a perfect pick b4 the draw was EVER announced. I hope the rankings aren't quite as accurate as last year. Going into The One & Done Season the Logan Elm Braves were ranked #1 among all DII teams Below the Lancaster Dixon Line and they prove PFloyd spot on as Logan Elm defeated Warren for the district title. Wouldn't mind seeing a 1-2 match up but you know I'll be rooting for a different outcome.
Again hats of PFloyd! Your rankings and commentary are truly appreciated. They add spice to an already exciting time of year if you happen to love HS Basketball.

Talk about one heck of a night of hoops at the Convocation Center.
I'm going to assume they will not clear the seats between these two games. Can anyone confirm?

And at the risk of also thread drifting, does anyone know if and when they will clear the Convo the next day, Sunday?

I think you and the BullPuppies better keep your undivided focus on the Unioto Sherman Tanks. I know in WarriorNation the focus is the Minford Falcons. Any of these 4 teams can win this district. Who excutes under the spotlight of district level competition will claim the 2015 District Championship.

hahaha 93Dog is not part of the team, WarriorBlue ... The post said "I" just want ONE more shot ... lol

I'm sure the 'Dogs are focused on The Tanks, they are in fact undefeated. If I were a betting man, I'd say Vegas has both Unioto and Warren favored (-8) in both semifinals.

This is a different looking team than when they faced Warren earlier in the year. More disciplined, and they actually have a game plan it appears. Kudos to the ex OU coach, and those willing to listen to him. No more chance of out coaching for the win. IMHO.

Athens didn't lose at the WarriorDome in January because Coach Skinner got out coached but rather the Bulldogs got outplayed. That my friend is the facts. It's hard to say coaching would've made much difference ANY 32 point blowout!!

Has Unioto been challenged this year in a <3 or so point game?

Have they had to come from behind in the 4th quarter yet or had to climb back in a game from a deficit?

That is the only thing that may be interesting to see, I have been a Unioto fan since the first couple times I saw them, and still think they advance from the Athens DII round, but it worries me that I don't think they have been really tested yet (from some of the scores I have seen) and Athens seems to be peaking with better play here of late.

So.....be a great game, can't wait to see this one. Good Luck to both squads and congratulations on a great season.

At Miami Trace. They trailed by 8 with 3 minutes left and were down 1 with 30 seconds left. Ended up winning by 5. That's it and that's my biggest worry with the Shermans as well, well besides Athens is really good lol.

Hopefully Burrow is at the convo shooting. Teams tend to struggle at the big barn. Glad Athens played Bishop Watterson at the convo

So apparently having no idea what to do when Lutz fouled out had nothing to do with coaching? I mean, the rest of the team looking around lost, as if they had less players on the court than the other team had nothing at all to do with not being coached up on a plan for when and if that happened? Okay, got it. IF these two meet up again I think you will see what a difference good coaching can make. But that is a big IF, since both have tough games to get there.
