… this is the time of year when makeup games happen and I don't get scores … I'm sure there are other records that are "off" the mark as well … Waterford is a question mark, South Point, some of these teams played in Huntington this past week and I have no scores for those games … any corrections are appreciated for sure … thanks I92 I'll switch up the Whiteoak record …

Highland Co press is pretty up to date on make ups and always has a link for updated standings for SHAC and SCOLpfloyd wrote:Ironman92 wrote:Highland Co Press has Whiteoak at 0-18

Re: Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio - Week #8
pfloyd: Congratulations to your Logan Chieftains on their win at Portsmouth........I guess the law of averages caught up with the Trojans.......we had won 11 in a row vs. the Purple, so their number came up. They deserved the win, coming back from a 35-20 deficit at halftime. I still think my Trojans are a very good basketball team whose starting 5 can match anyone in the SE District, and we have a coach with 2 Final 4's on his resume. Hopefully we can get a couple of kids contributing off the bench by tournament time. PHS is very capable of making a big tournament run, but we have to be able to not let big leads slip away as we did vs. Warren (14 in the 4th quarter) and Logan (15 at halftime)......both of those games on our home court. You do that in the tournament and your season will end. One thing that's interesting about the Trojans is that they seem to play better on the road (3 of 5 losses at home), which may bode well come the postseason.
GO TROJANS!!!

Unioto is UNREAL. Made (ballpark) 27 3's in two nights. Depth, shooters, size and guardssssss. The Overly kid is a pleasure to watch. Will hawk the ball on one end and bust one in your eye from about 22-23ft on the other end. All the while never showboating or drawing attention to himself. If that kid isn't an All-Ohio basketball player I don't know what one looks like. (This coming from a NON-UNIOTO homer) BTW.... crammed one vs Waverly the same game he made 9- 3's and had 31pts. He's about 5'10" .... This team is going to make a deep, deep, deep run.
Re: Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio - Week #8
I had Peebles at 16-0 and Southern at 7-7 BUT I checked the Highland County Press - they had Peebles at 17-0 so I changed it … I checked 93dog's TVC website he had him at 8-8 so I changed it … silly me !!! should go with my own records for the teams in my napkins stats !!!!
I'll redo the records … got to have them correct for the sectional seedings !!!

IF there are more adjustments that need to be made to the records please let me know … I will correct them as soon as possible … remember "soon" at the grey beard stage that I'm in takes a little longer …
Re: Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio - Week #8
Some of the key games I'll be looking closely at for 2/3 :
Logan vs Marietta … Logan having a GOOD year but an up and down one as well - beating (13-5) Portsmouth on the road Saturday night but losing games to Fairfield Union, Sheridan … which Purple TEAM will show up Tuesday night to take on the Tigers …
Vinton County @ Athens … the Bulldogs have one of if not the best 4 of 5 starters in SEOhio … AHS only losses to Warren and #1 ranked ASVSM both in the same week … Coach Skinners boys played toe to toe with the Irish Saturday night (Griffin Lutz staying on the floor) while being run off the floor at the Warrior Dome Tuesday night 45-77 (Griffin Lutz not on the floor due to foul trouble) … it's a simple game for Athens - keep Lutz on the floor the Bulldogs can beat anyone - we will see how a very very good Vinton Co TEAM for Coach Combs handles Lutz & Co at McAfee …
Valley @ Unioto … the Shermans of Coach Hoops is THE all around TEAM in SEOhio … size in Hosley/Adkins … perimeter shooting Overly/Corcoran/Cottrill & Co. … great ball handling … outstanding man defensive/pressure defense … deep bench going 8-9 deep - the Shermans ARE #1 Below the Lancaster-Dixon Line … Coach Rolfe's Valley Indians have athletes ( Bryan Rolfe/Ryan Brown/Blake Howard) BUT do they have enough athletes to go on the road vs Unioto and come away with a BIG W heading into sectional seeding? …my Ouija Board says that with the Indians missing 75% of last years scoring and no "man in the middle i.e. Hayden Dunn to offset UHS's Man in the Middle - Erique Hosley … take UHS they ARE 16-0 for a reason - they're darn good …

Meigs, Watterson, Warren, Wellston, ASVSM & Vinton in a 12 day period ... Ugh.
Still have to drive to Cheshire Friday, before welcoming Propel Pennsylvania to McAfee on Saturday ... 8 games, 16 days - and it just so happens 5 of those are against the toughest teams on the schedule.

Propel Andrew is 13-9. They aren't as good last years team but beat University by 9 and Wheeling park beat University by 15. Wheeling park blew out Warren. Propel has a bad loss against parkersburg. Should be another high scoring game93Bulldog wrote:Meigs, Watterson, Warren, Wellston, ASVSM & Vinton in a 12 day period ... Ugh.
