Gallia Academy @ River Valley....1-23-2015

Post by HoopsHotHead »

Should be a good one.......RV is playing well, but his is a rival game that could go either way.......expect the gym to be packed and the environment to be tense.......best of luck to both coaches and their teams........

GO RAIDERS!!!!!

Not hard to pack that small box of a gym they have at RV. Shake my head every time I go to that place. With that being said, I'll go with RV in a close one, but not that close.

You are right Blizza......that is a joke of a gym.....but.....if RV had a huge gym, it would look really strange having a game and only filling 10% of it......we can barely fill 25% of the gym we have now.......so......at first I thought the same thing....but now....maybe a small capacity gym was the best idea.......either way.....I expect a packed house for Friday......

GO RAIDERS!!!!

RV seems to be competing at a high level right now. I would say RV will win this one by double digits.

Go TVC.

RV always "competes" when they are at home. It would be interesting to know the Raiders' record and point margin in home games vs. away games.

I would venture to guess they have a huge advantage when they play at home in the Zebra House.

Come on guys. Just give RV some credit. They have worked hard and have earned every win this year. They are finally on the rise and these boys have faced a lot of uncertainty and adversity to get where they are. I for one am rooting for them.

I remember in the mid 2000's the gym was packed at the old RV high school. Does the community not support the team like they did then?

Must be a Gallia County thing. SG also "competes" well when they are at home. Ole JJ always books a good home town favorite crew for the boys for the tough games. If you notice 3 of their 4 losses are on the road.

Wouldn't that be true of most if not all teams? Check the records of all area teams home vs away and then tell me Gallia County teams are different than anyone else.

The old RV/Kyger Creek School seated about 700 people the new RV seats 1000 sooo.,,,,, prob the same amount of people bigger gym. The bad thing about the gym at RV is it really makes it hard when the school wants to host a HS tournament or other event that would make money for the school/boosters. It's a shame because the rest of the school seems to be well built and pretty nice. If the 850 area builds like projected RV high school could be 2 times as big as it was when built, that would suck having a cracker box gym!

In the TVC Hocking 4 teams have as many or more losses at home as they do on the road, while a few others are within 1 of having as many. And then you have the Homer division of the Hocking...

River Valley wins in a manner that some could say would be a taste of their own medicine from the past......while leading in the 4th, RV chews almost 2 mins of late clock to outlast the Blue Devils.....the RV JV also won and the frosh game went to the blue imps.....great crowd, great atmosphere..........Too bad the RV faithful forgot to show up on Sat........JMO!!!!
