Everyone looks terrible the first scrimmage, if a team looked good I would be worried honestly.

Any specifics? How did the new QB look? Did it seem like they were able to replace the losses from the graduating class well?

I don't think anyone doubts Burg will be strong this year

Keep in mind BurgGrad_06 Chillicothe was just on outside looking in last year for Region 9 playoffs, coached by Hinton and picked to be a contender this year.

My guess is Burg will be just fine...everyone is just 15 days into practice this season...a lot of rough edges for everyone.

The scrimmage was decent. Burg has 2qbs one is a sophomore. He has good mechanics and a strong arm, but he just doesn't have the experience and often times makes bad reads! I'm sure that will come with maturity and he will have a bright future. The other is a senior strong arm and good runner, doesn't have the elusiveness that May had last year, but he is just about as athletic. The rbs are good, same as the last few years. The line is big and strong, need to work on assignments but it's very early in the season. Receivers are all pretty good. On defense our secondary is pretty solid. Line backers are big and hard hitters, need to work on containment. The dline is the biggest I have seen burg have in several years. Over all burg will be good this season just a lot of mental mistakes. Some personell changes will probably happen this week and hopefully show up ready to go against gallia. I would like to add though.. the officials at the scrimmage today were the best I have ever seen. When they called something they explained their reasoning to the kids and coaches.

Sounds like Burg needs to use the senior QB just from the read here. Burg will get better but not the good football good enough.JMO
