I'm not going to say what number. Sorry, They were just unnecessary fouls. They would of been called in any gym in the state. Home or away.

Who won the Logan-Warren Local JV game? Winner took over undisputed first place in the SEOAL. Thanks.

IMO that actually helps Chillicothe's ranking lol

Wilmington beat Miami Trace by 60
Following the score throughout and it was much closer than the final suggests. I believe they were only down 11 going into the 4th and also had it tight throughout the first half.
It's weird to say a score like that is impressive, but to be down by 11 going to the fourth against a great team like Wilmington was a fantastic game by Chillicothe.

The cavs trailed 44-40 with 4 minutes left in the 3rd with all starting 5 in serious foul trouble, Steve bayless and tommy bolte fouled out early in the 4th and that sealed the game. The cavs have now lost to D1 #1 ranked gahanna by 13 (without Bolte) and #5 Wilmington The cavs get a break tonight ( haha) at upper Arlington

final
Great win for Minford Friday night against Valley. Nice for Minford to finally get a "W" against a great program and well-coached team. Game was much closer than final score with Minford pulling away in the 4th quarter. Thought Minford's defense (both 1-2-2 and man) were both good and man to man was as good as I've seen them play this year. Much better effort in the man and great to have Gullion back on the point of the 1-2-2. Not sure it was by design but Minford post again was the difference with Alley getting 22 points and this after sitting out over 5 minutes of the second quarter. As I've said in previous posts, he needs to have the ball as he has made outstanding decisions all year. Didn't force a shot that I saw but took what he was given and was a part of the majority of Minford's positive offensive possessions either as the scorer, passer, or screener on the pick and roll with Rowe. Was very patient as he could have jacked multiple shots due to the way they played him. Great understanding that he could get the shot "anytime" in the possession as I've continually asked for Minford to do more all year so kudos to the staff and the kid for this!! Rowe really stepped up during the fourth quarter run as well scoring 7 straight. He exploded off the pick and roll and simply beat the defender and pulled up for two really nice shots to seal the win. Great team effort all around. As I've also said, if this team continues to take what they get and potentially have a different leading scorer every night, they will be very hard to beat down the line. Thought the offense was "sluggish" getting into sets. Still believe you need a continuity offense against the man to man in particular but also the zone. Valley defense was good as well and they were well-prepared on many of the set plays which caused Minford to have to reset and kind of stalled the offense IMO. But, it also made for more patient possessions and kept the tempo in Minford's favor. I don't think anyone wants to run with Valley. Rolfe is such a skilled playmaker they can run you into a deficit very quickly. Valley struggles in the half court as they lack consistent shooting. They had some success posting Rolfe at times but overall (other than the run in the second quarter) just don't have a great consistent scorer besides Rolfe. Minford's defense did well when Valley screened for Rolfe, staying in front of him and limiting his penetration and mid-range pull ups which is where he is most dangerous. I knew all week Valley would come out in the man to man and it appeared Minford was not expecting it early and then adjusted. I believe Valley matches up athletically with Minford as well as anyone they'll face in the conference. Minford had much better rotations on the back side of the 1-2-2 from the guard positions but had some lapses in transition defense that got their bigs a couple of cheap fouls....nobody stopped the ball at the top on a few occasions allowing Rolfe to do what he does best. Gullion and Alley did an excellent job handling the ball as well; great adjustment by Minford staff as it looked early like they were faceguarding Rowe possibly in a box and one. Oak Hill tried triangle and two and Valley may have tried the box and one. I think Minford has to sacrifice the scoring of those players and simply take them away from the lane and let the other 3 or 4 beat the other team because they can. Reminded me a few years ago when Minford came out in box and one on Yates and it appeared coach Rolfe just had him take himself out to the perimeter and went 4 on 4 with Minford and won. Minford can do the same thing IMO especially against Oak Hill if they attempt the same thing at their place. It requires some players to be very unselfish on the offensive end but should soon open up the offense to everyone. Kelley did a great job on Brown in the man to man and Shepherd probably led Minford in rebounding. Very odd game on rebounding as many went long. Also, I didn't think Minford lacked effort whatsoever but seemed like EVERY long rebound or tipped ball ended up in a Valley player's hands. Finally, on a side note, I've never seen more traveling violations called in a game in my life. However, the majority looked to be called correctly which was a testament to the defensive effort by both teams and the preparation/match ups by both coaching staffs.........great high school basketball game! Rematch should be also! Congratulations to coach Shoemaker and staff and players for a great win!
