I cannot understand the current format for the sectional, district tournament. Why not have the 4-6 teams CLOSEST TO EACH OTHER play it out? With the winner and runner-up going to the district. They would play each other twice in regular season. The seeding would be determined by head to head play with no subjectivity. It would encourage more fan participation (at least from the casual fan) because of less travelling for tournament play. It would encourage teams to play a tougher schedule because losing to an out of sectional team would not effect seeding. Just seems less complicated to me.
