Changes for 2015
Re: Changes for 2015
Glad to see another girls soccer program. Good to see girls soccer get established in southern Ohio.
Re: Changes for 2015
Rock Hill is starting a middle school boys team. No word on a high school program just yet.
This will fit perfectly with that nice soccer field that they built years ago and then never used due to "a lack of funds".

The Wheelersburg boys coaching position was posted on the OHSAA website yesterday

Have any of these been filled? I've heard Jon Estep being tossed around for the burg job. If so New Boston will have a spot open.
Re: Changes for 2015
I haven't heard of any of them being filled for certain. I have heard the same for the Burg job, but I am guessing there are 6-8 applicantsMr. Official wrote:Have any of these been filled? I've heard Jon Estep being tossed around for the burg job. If so New Boston will have a spot open.

Knowing the area and how New Boston plays I don't see Estep, even though Michael does a good job with baseball, being a good fit and I think the players will respond to that if he's the lead. What other names have you heard?

Bishop Rosecrans have filled their vacancy with Roderick Gibson.
Rod played for Zanesville Christian and Muskingum College (now University). He was previously the coach for the team sponsored by Licking County Christian Academy.

Warren boys have a change in coaches. Andy Pinkerton, Varsity coach and Miles Alexander JV coach. Andrew Johnson left after 4 successful years. Good luck to him on his move out of the area.
Re: Changes for 2015
I think he may have ended up staying. I heard that he was going to take some time off to spend more time with his kids, but maybe not nowgobrowns wrote:Why is the Athens girls coach leaving? Does he have a new job?

Re: Changes for 2015
No private messages from this guy. Along with Estep, I've heard Aaron Bennett (burg alum), Wes Lyon (burg alum), and Connor Scott (sw alum). I'd have to agree that Estep wouldn't be the right fit for Burg, any of the other 3 mentioned would be able to take the program to the next level. I am pretty sure that a decision will be announced at the board meeting tonight.

Re: Changes for 2015
I heard he was brought in with some stipulations for a P.E. job.
I would imagine the soccer job is his... should be interesting to hear what team says.

Re: Changes for 2015
I think he will do a good job. Honestly, he got more than some coaches would have been able to get out of some NB teams over his 10(?) years down there. Many times you would look over at the sideline and by his side would be an assistant coach, 2 players on crutches and 2 girls. He will benefit from a solid program already being established. Now the question will be, who takes over at NB? Coach Lewis coming out of retirement?Mr. Official wrote:I heard he was brought in with some stipulations for a P.E. job.
