Man I do not know where you got your info! I checked the 2011 issues of the LDN and have not found an invite from the OCC! Please give dates of this article and will check it out!

Let's steer this Convo back in the Right Direction...

It is early, but my Pre-Pre Season Prediction...

Athens - 3
Logan - 2 Final

The Fighting Chieftans come out roaring with some strong Defense. They force Athens into a 3rd and long from inside the Athens 5 yard line and record the games first points with a Safety. The Mighty Bulldogs keep fighting, and find a way to get into Field Goal Range...the kick is up and it is GOOD! Athens all the way...

(moon) Will the bullpuppies have a dependable kicker?

The occ contacted Logan, not the other way around. This was at the time the occ lost Watkins and the MSL lost 6 schools to the licking county league.the occ wanted Chillicothe, Logan, and canal Winchester

Good info Raider. So yes, Logan could have pursued the opportunity, and still could. However, they chose and choose to shy away from that competition. It is good to see the back tracking going on, and comical, since you posted the facts. So Logan attends a meeting and pleads with the league, (which they claim is weak), that they accuse Athens of running to, but show no interest in pursuing a league with stiffer competition. I call that dodging.

Let me repeat" No Offer was made by the OCC"

By the way moon says the Chiefs will dominate both the bullpuppies and the nutboy's in 2015

Oh I am sorry, but since the 2004 season, hasn't Logan always schedule teams from up north? Yes Lancaster is consider up north so lets not be cute about this. I think someone is sore that Logan tried to call the dogs off this year, and they still dominated the Buckeyes. Come on if you are going to bash Logan, come with FACTS. NOT ASSUMPTIONS. Dodging competition is a TVC job not a Chieftain job
That is an emphatic statement about the thought process at Logan. Bash Athens, and the TVC and call them cowards, cut-n-run, scared of competition, runs from a challenge. All the while D2 Logan is perfectly happy scheduling D4, D5, and D6 schools, some from the league you make those comments about, instead of D2 schools in your own division and region like Dublin Scioto, Olentangy, etc... So again, Athens envy is rampant in Logan. You people wish you had what Athens has, and you just are beside yourself that you will never get it.

Scioto and Olentangy aren't interested in playing Logan.

Yeah, the article says NOTHING of an invite in 2011.

And having been involved with both the Logan Daily News and the school district at the time, I can tell you with certainty that "contact" and an "invitation" are two very different things.

The MSL also "contacted" Logan but never issued an invite.

If you read the story, it talks about the OCC adding a NUMBER of schools - of which only one has been invited and accepted (Canal Winchester).

If Hamilton Twp, Teays Valley, Whitehall, and Chillicothe (along with Logan) could all get in the OCC, I can pretty much guarantee Logan would jump on that opportunity in a second. But I don't see more than 2 of those schools considering leaving where they are at.

So why isn't Logan contacting the OCC? Why are you people not on here making fun of the OCC for not letting you in? We all know the reasons. :122246
