Portsmouth Coaching Job
Re: Portsmouth Coaching Job
Based on the lack of posts is it safe to assume that apparently no one gives a sh*t about Portsmouth Trojan Football anymore?

Re: Portsmouth Coaching Job
That's what losing will do to a program. Hope they stay in house for a coach and get these kids playing and get some type of physicality back like they had when they were good. Bring back " da U " mentality
Re: Portsmouth Coaching Job
No one cares! No one cares! No one cares! Maybe we can just do away with the program and add soccer.
Re: Portsmouth Coaching Job
If the wrong man is chosen to lead our trojans may God have mercy on our souls, for not only will our doubt in Him affect the future of trojan football, but he will have decided to lead the trojans down that 'path' with him.. It would be better that you tie a millstone around your neck and be thrown into the ocean than to cause even one of the trojan warrior children to stumble.

Re: Portsmouth Coaching Job
The last hire, the Portsmouth people did what so many have done, and that is fall in love with a candidate with "college coaching experience" who is a "way-outsider" with no ties to the area.
How often does that work well? How often does that individual stay in SE Ohio?
If they do hire a "way-outsider" they better hire one who is unmarried, that way he can meet a wife here and maybe she will want to stay in the area. If he's already married to somebody who isn't from the area, he's unlikely to want to make Scioto County a long term home.

Re: Portsmouth Coaching Job
They would be better to hire an ex Trojan with a love for the school. Good coaches are not going to relocate, inherent that mess, and sacrifice their coaching future.

^^^^^^^^
Dead on.
If they want long-term success, they need to hire somebody who isn't moving in.

Re: Portsmouth Coaching Job
Congratulations to Aaron!!........I'm really happy for him.........he is an outstanding person, teacher, and family man.........and a TROJAN!! He was an outstanding athlete at PHS, and has served on the football staff for a long time. Great to see him get the opportunity!!
NOW IF THE COMMUNITY WILL HAVE SOME PATIENCE WITH OUR NEW FOOTBALL COACH!! It is not realistic or fair to him that there should be high expectations right away........to turn our program around will take time........but I know this........we have a coach who will put every ounce of energy he has into making Portsmouth football respectable again.
GO TROJANS!!

Way to go board of education. This a great hire for our Trojans. Also congratulations to you coach. We are now once again "once a Trojan always a Trojan" Some of us never stop thinking this way but it was getting harder each game. Can not wait for football season now . Great way to head in to ovc play with one of ours leading the charge GO TROJANS.
Re: Portsmouth Coaching Job
It is nice to see positive response from some people on here. Hopefully that means they hired the right person for the job and it is a coach that will turn things around in the next few years.

I really believe in AD. Great man for the job, so happy for him as well. I feel the program is in great hands , hopefully for years to come.
