Not sure if I called you crazy or not, but I remember you saying this would happen.

If things don't change, I don't see Rock
Hill getting a win, no matter what division they're in.

well folks welcome to the new ovc.
ironton, Portsmouth, gallipolis, rock hill, south point, fairland, Chesapeake, coal grove. and maybe Jackson. I hope that this eventually becomes one of the strongest leagues in ohio high school football.it will be a great league for everything non football. I think it will be lopsided in football for a while. but teams go through cycles, it'll all work out. ironton should have at least 17 seniors next year. not sure about the other teams. Portsmouth is in a down cycle and sorely needs a coaching change, as does rock hill. gahs will be tough after being used to playing in the seoal. coal grove is solid.and frankly everybody else is struggling football wise at the present. the ovc needs good solid coaching, big crowds and a great sense of competition. and strong out of conference scheduling. to survive past week 10. I hope all the schools compete fairly and work toward a grand league. I'm excited for the kids that they can now play for league championships as well as individual recognition.it's the only thing that makes sense geographically. I hope there are enough bleacher space at the other schools. not sure since I've not been to a ovc stadium lately. if not I hope that in the off season more bleachers can be built. because ironton will bring it fan wise. I hope the whole league travels well.good luck everybody.

CAN I POST DATE A CHECK FOR THE 3RD.----------------------FANS DON'T LIKE TO STAND. UNLESS THEY CHOOSE TO STAND.
YOU WANT THE GATE MONEY YOU NEED THE SEATS , IT'S THAT SIMPLE ANYWHERE. YOU HAVE TO THINK OF HANDICAPPED, ELDERLY, AND THE LIKE. PLUS HAVE ADEQUATE SEATING FOR THE FANS OR THEY'LL STAY HOME. ASK PORTSMOUTH WHAT KIND OF CROWD WE BROUGHT TO THE PLAYOFF GAME THERE 2 WEEKS AGO

When you start donating large sums of money to these schools athletic departments, they can expand just for Ironton............

And this is one of the reason folks don't like Ironton fans.

I give Ironton 4 years before they where out their welcome in the OVC.

A couple of notes from an old Trojan. The new OVC will be a fun league to attend games, I base this on the locations of the schools to each other, the social-economics of the schools are somewhat close and the schools are similar in size (100 from large to small). Midweek sports should have some fair attendance and the Friday gamed should have a good following. Still this league will struggle because, IMO, some schools fans are just too eaten up with apathy. Win and they go to games and if they do not win or are not competive the fans will stay away (PHS). Would have really liked PHS to have gotten into SOC but the old regime is just not too far away yet for that to happen. Having said this--Go Trojans

I don't know, our AD has deep roots in the OVC being a graduate and Assistant Coach at Chesapeake and a Head Coach for the Pointers.
