Week 10 Minford @ Valley

Re: Week 10 Minford @ Valley
I think the way the refs looked at the call on the touchback is what force made the ball go into the endzone. If a Valley player knocked it into the endzone and then out...it may be a touchback. Im not clear on thay rule.

Congrats on the win and the home playoff game, again. Rep the SOC well and good luck next week.
Re: Week 10 Minford @ Valley
Valley's defense was very impressive tonight, Minford had 211 total yards and 136 of those came on the JV players to end the game.
I have watched 8 Valley games this year, and this was by far the most conservative calling I have seen all year... think Valley ran the ball up the middle 30 times tonight
Score says the game was close but it wasn't.. most lopsided game in this rivalry in a while
Refs were terrible all night long, the call to give minford a free 20 yards for fumbling out of the end zone might be the second worst call I have ever seen (with the worst being the two point conversion in the Minford-Valley game to take the playoffs away from Valley)

Sounds like these are the same refs from the Burg vs valley game....
Re: Week 10 Minford @ Valley
Same refs from the Burg/Minford game. Most are Valley grads from the late 70s & 80s. That was the correct call, b/c it's nothing to do with possession, it's whomever forces the ball out of the endzone. A Valley player forced it into the endzone and another Valley player forces the ball out of the endzone, hence a touchback not a safety.

Why would you bring an actual fact to this conversation? You just ruined a dozen people's day!

Re: Week 10 Minford @ Valley
Yeah, don't let the facts get in the way of a good story, huh?? Haha!

Based on the way the refs ruled the play it was a correct call.
Anyone that wants to complain about the personal foul calls, may want to watch the tape of what happened there. Your coach sure understood.
