That would go a long way to bringing up community support.

What would really help is that if a few folks get together and Co. E up with a plan to talk the team up, hang signs and banners, say good things about the coaching staff. If you get a few people being positive then soon enough it will start to spread.

From an outsiders' perspective, I have really enjoyed watching Wellston's head coach prepare his teams for battle, week in and week out. If he and his staff aren't getting the backing they need and deserve, they definitely should. He gets kids to play hard and prepares them to battle. The community should back this guy, too. He's young, brings energy to the table amd could build consistency within the program. I respect this guy and again, this is from the outside looking in.

Sorry but you guys are talking about lack of support and lack of funding. You honestly don't believe you are the only school in the entire state of Ohio that isn't able to give what everyone is perceived as proper funding to the program. The budget is what it is and the ppl making the decisions can only work with what they have. Do you pay a bunch of money for a new football sled or does one replace books that are in need of replacement these are the questions they face. You guys can make it out to be they need more support well if you start with community support others will follow suit, because from the schools standpoint if they can't afford it they can't afford it. I also believe dropping Jackson is the least of your worries, unless you guys are just getting demolished year after year, which you're not then that shouldn't even be of concern. Fact is playing Jackson should only strengthen your team going forward and prepare you for your conference which you aren't even winning that. So as some have said be realistic about your goals unless the right group of athletes comes along or you guys just schedule a bunch of cupcakes, which sounds what you'd like to do, fact is Wellston is a .500 ball club whether it be just above at 6-4 or just below finishing 4-6. There's schools that can't even budget in football be grateful for what you do have and try and help the team by volunteering and getting community involvement instead of complaining about something out of your and possibly even the school boards control. Do you think they wouldn't provide the best equipment possible if they were able to for the kids??? SERIOUSLY think about that

Next league meeting what Wellston should address is a fellow league team putting 82 on the board against them. Don't give me they are getting ready for the playoffs It was a classless act and they should be shown the door. You just humiliated a bunch of kids and community. If Adams gets coach of the year it will show that the tvc is a joke. Running clock you can use the 25 second clock clear down run up the gut and get out of there. That was a travesty to watch but most will stick their head in the sand and just take it. You need to address it!!!

With a running clock and if that was the case and freshmen were putting it on them in the 4th believe other things need addressed. I've already said in another post about the SEAOL that Athens need to leave the TVC and enter into the SEAOL travel is the same and will be on teams more of their level. Fact is Athens has really turned that program around over the last several years and has NO BUSINESS being in the TVC and honestly if anything was addressed it should be the league asking Athens to vacate the league.

I've seen a lot of terrible teams over the years play some strong programs that could have scored 100 but programs that are use to being strong show more class. Especially in their own conference. No need for that I don't care how bad the team is your playing. I believe they should ask Athens to leave. They have no respect for the tvc.

You can play good D in areas against Athens, but if your Wellston or any other tvc team you definetly do not have a chance to stop athens. Impossible with the weapons they have this year at receiver. By formation they can get atleast one receiver in a man to man situation and run by the DB and play pitch and catch. And thats just what happened all night

I dont think Wellston is a terrible team, i just think athens had enough weapons that covering them in msn to man situations was impossible. Wellston or any other tvc team does not have the man power at the skill position to slow them down when needed

HOGWASH, Athens don't even list Freshmen on the roster "they have a freshmen team" this way there roster has fewer #s.
EVERYONE else in the TVC lists freshman because they need em.

I stand by my statement Athens has no reason what so ever to be playing in the TVC but the league continues along. Until the league decides to ask Athens to leave get used to it. Do a little research look up the TVC conference website you'll see since 2012 Athens has scored 60+ points 14 times, this year alone against the TVC, 55-9 Alexander, 61-14 VC, 49-0 Meigs, 82-7 Wellston. Last year the beat Alexander 83-14 was anyone saying anything then???? Last 3 games Alexander vs Athens 2014 (55-9), 2013 Athens (83-14), 2012 Athens (77-13) so over the last 3 seasons Athens has beat Alexander by a combined 215-36 and the rest of the league doesn't fair much better. Go to the website check out the scores Wellston has been treated no different then any other team in the TVC fact is Athens rules the roost in that league and it's a JOKE, A JOKE that they remain in the TVC. If the other schools can't get together and acknowledge that and try and do something about it then you know what shame on you guys and you get what you deserve.

Enjoy your Bulldogs TVC. There is a 4 team conference of other area schools in similar size to Athens yet they would rather rule a league that was just fine without them. The TVC schools stand behind Athens in the TVC and how do they reward them ?? By hanging 82 on a conference team. Working on things for the playoffs is Crap!! Run the ball and snap it with 3 seconds left . Run up the score all you want on non league teams but don't do that to your conference brothers .
