WEEK 7 COLUMBUS ST. CHARLES @IRONTON
Re: WEEK 7 COLUMBUS ST. CHARLES @IRONTON
It was a tough win for the Tigers.
The was bigger on the offensive line and defensive line for sure.
But this was a St. Charles team that came in healthy and a running back that was unreal.
The QB was big fast and strong and it looked liked they was just going to run away with the game.
Ironton was down but never gave up they stuck to a game plan and won.
If this was last years team I believe they would have folded up and got bet.
But I believe this team and coaching staff has grew and evolved and tonight's win was huge.
Yes this was a 2 win team they beat but a talented 2 win team none the less.
Great win Tigers you showed faith and confidence and that makes for a great team as you move forward

Very well could be.Viking96 wrote:Ironton / Jackson is gonna be sick
Both teams are improving game by game.
The Ironmen are very talented and disciplined.
The Tigers are talented but still making mistakes that cost them in penalties.
But it should be a very good game between two very good teams.
Re: WEEK 7 COLUMBUS ST. CHARLES @IRONTON
I think ironton will be a harder game for Jackson than burg was. I know burg won that game but ironton is physical like jackson. Burg wasn't very physical and it showed .
Re: WEEK 7 COLUMBUS ST. CHARLES @IRONTON
Burg is a very good team.
Jackson is a very good team.
Ironton needs to contended with a solid Meigs team before a Solid Jackson team.
As for Wheelersburg they beat Ironton on every aspect of the game Ironton played close for a half but fell apart in the second half.
Jackson will be a huge challenge period.
But Ironton beat a solid and healthy St. Charles team and regardless of their win loss record they was a very good team.
Yes Jackson may very well be the game of the week but only if Ironton beats Meigs and learns how to control penalties by making none.

Re: WEEK 7 COLUMBUS ST. CHARLES @IRONTON
Let me tell you I'm not a football coach but St Charles may have been the smallest team in size Ironton has played this year. They may also be the quickest. The St Charles coach made the same mistake the Ashland Ky. coach made in not using his best player enough. Ironic that they both wore the #5. St Charles also were bound and determined that Ironton was not going to get to the outside and they didn't get there all night. St Charles had two corners playing 10 to 15 yards outside Ironton's tight ends on every play. They would give Ironton 5 to 10 yards up the middle but were not going to give them the corner and that is how the game went all night long. Ironton was only stopped when they shot themselves in the foot. St Charles lost the game when #5 went down with an ankle injury at the 6 yard line with 5:50 left in the game. St Charles went backwards after that. They missed a 47 yard field goal at the 4:00 minute mark and that was the game. A very hard fought game by both teams. Just my humble opinion. You're Tiger Bait wrote:great win by the fighting tigers last night. those are the ones you have to prove you can win. against the big boys.

Re: WEEK 7 COLUMBUS ST. CHARLES @IRONTON
now we have to put this great win behind us, and move onto meigs and not be thinking about Jackson.
very, very proud of where the fighting tigers have came from the second half of the burg game.
the fighting tigers have some very strong teams left on the schedule, keep taking one team at a time.
but I am happy where they stand right now.and dang proud of everybody involved.

I am very proud of the tigers that was a hard game and they did not give up... They did play a little sluggishly the first half but fought back I agree with river rat it was a turning point when #5 got injured but also following that there was a HUGE play made by #85 when he sacked the QB for about a ten yard lose and they got a holding call which brought then back 10 more yards and that woke them up... They hit harder and fought harder its all about those big plays.. IMO

Re: WEEK 7 COLUMBUS ST. CHARLES @IRONTON
Overall a nice effort by the Fighting Tigers. Still, there are some things that need work. As Coach Vass noted, "field position killed us all night..." as evidenced by St. C punting only once.
This was a good example of how the game stats can be very misleading. Ironton had almost 400 yards rushing and ran 3 times as many plays as the Cardinals, and yet still almost lost.

Re: WEEK 7 COLUMBUS ST. CHARLES @IRONTON
I think Ironton ran 71 plays if I'm not mistaken. Palladino had 30 of those carries. The mistake that started St Charles on their down hill move was the backfield motion on #1. They could have flagged him for that a couple of times but he wasn't caught until that very crucial time. With that penalty they went to the air and Ironton went to an all out blitz and they were caught for holding. Might have been that same player because it looked like they could have called it on a couple of them. Even with the holds Ironton still got the sack. Have to give the Ironton defense credit, they could have folded but they didn't.
