Week 6: Athens (5-0) @ Steubenville (4-1)
Re: Week 6: Athens (5-0) @ Steubenville (4-1)
The sad, yet funny thing here is that over on the Ohio Valley Football forum, Big Red fans are giving Athens way more of a chance than the SEOPS posters. Maybe some understand talent, and others just like to hate. Either way this will be a good game.

Athens is D3 and Steubenville is D4
Nothing else matters.

I agree with Dundas .... I can't help but think there is more hype
Then need be..... I think Athens will be to much for them. I said 20 but
It will prob be more.

I will be going to this one. Watching a game at Death Valley is an opportunity I can't pass up.....
I'm gonna say the Dogs win but this will be a very physical game.
I think Athens will struggle early, but once they get that rhythmgoing they will pile up some ppoints.

This is amazing, counting this year and the last 4 years Steubenville will have only played 11 Away games in 5 years. Their record is (36-9) during that time with a record of (6-5) Away and (30-4) at Home.
Good Luck Athens, give them their 1st Home loss of the season.
Athens --------- 42
Steubenville -- 28

That's the norm usually each year. There are only usually only 3 away games. Once again get there early you will want to park in the Kroger parking lot. It's a little walk up to the stadium.

Here is a link to Big Red football site. They will broadcast the game Friday. This link has pics of the stadium and team history.

The difference in the game will be the OL & DL. Athen's group was better last year. For this reason and Athen's lack of competitive games, Steubenville wins.

Re: Week 6: Athens (5-0) @ Steubenville (4-1)
Please know your facts before you post. Athens has the same OL and DL as last year with the exception of one player who was a part time player. If Steubenville wins it will be because they are the better team not because Athens has a weaker OL and DL than last year. Kinda renders your post mute when you can't get simple facts correct.Blackjack wrote:The difference in the game will be the OL & DL. Athen's group was better last year. OHW - Jed DeBruin was the leader of that line and a Captain. Sorry to hurt your feelings. Just wait and see who is correct. :122245

Re: Week 6: Athens (5-0) @ Steubenville (4-1)
coached against steubenville on their home field once.
we were going through pregame and are told they want to do an early coin flip
we agree
we win the toss and choose offense
next thing we know they have their kickoff team on the field and the game gets started a half hour early..
lol...
the refs tell us that if we dont put our return team on the field we will start facing penalties
the great thing is we beat them on their field
it was chillicothe in like 2001ish
we won so im not crying, but it was the absolutely worst display of officiating EVER!!!!!!!
