Fort Frye also playing Dec 20th at home vs Keystone Oaks (Pittsburgh) a team that if in Ohio would be D1.
Re: Pioneer Valley Conf 2014/2015
Every year, it's Fort Frye's league until someone beats them. I believe Monroe Central and Caldwell have the best chances to do that.

Any truth to what I'm hearing about a couple Caldwell basketball players being suspended?

Re: Pioneer Valley Conf 2014/2015
And I don't believe Caldwell plays River during the regular season any longer.
Pilots picked up St. Clairsville (been to state semi's 2 years ago), Martins Ferry (back-to-back regionals), and Union Local (ranked #1 at one point last yr.) and got out of PVC.
I don't believe any team left in the PVC can stop Fort Frye. I mean, the Cadets can (in the words of Hubie Brown) score the ball.

Re: Pioneer Valley Conf 2014/2015
What league did they join? Anyone seen frontier scrimmage yet? Interested to see how they look
Re: Pioneer Valley Conf 2014/2015
River staying in the OVAC. The 50-team league with 5 divisions. The PVC was just an offshoot league. Most of the schools in the OVAC are members of other smaller leagues, i.e. Buckeye 8, ECOL, RVL, and probably one I forgot.

Re: Pioneer Valley Conf 2014/2015
I'm concerned about Caldwell after watching the preview and a few scrimmages. I think they will be really good by the end of the year but they are banged up right now. Clark is our best player and is out with an ankle injury. My son said he starts rehab this week on it. Baker and Lori just got cleared to play on Friday. Harding is out four games, Cannon and Riski two each for discipline. That takes away three of the top six for the early part of the season. They had more varsity kids not dressed than they did dressed in the preview. Of the five who played there was one guard, the other three kids dressed were JV players. They still won because Shenandoah isn't very good but they made something like 5 of 25 from the foul line in the two quarter game. Football took it's toll on them for sure. I think it set them back, obviously with practice time and injuries. The schedule is pretty soft early but I kind of expect Frontier to beat them next week when they play. I hope they get it going soon but it will be a survival thing for them the first few weeks.
