Re: WEEK 5 (2-2) Waverly @ (2-2) Coal Grove
The most points Waverly has given up this year was to Portsmouth (29 if I am not mistaken) there is no way Coal Grove is anywhere near as talented as Portsmouth or Jackson (who scored 23 on Waverly) so if Coal Grove is going to win it will be low scoring.
I think Waverly in a close one

Portsmouth is NOT the same team without Oliver at QB. If Oliver was in Portsmouth would've put up 40 plus

I want to go with my heart in this one and go ahead and say the Grove, but I just don't know.
Re: WEEK 5 (2-2) Waverly @ (2-2) Coal Grove
Waverly's offense is very predictable. Their running backs run hard and get lots of yards after contact. But they have zero passing game and a decent defense can shut down their running game like Jackson did. I don't know anything about Coal Grove, but if their defense is more like Court House and Portsmouth than Jackson, Waverly should be able to move the ball. Waverly always seems to allow their opponent to score on their opening possession before they either make adjustments or the opponent gets stupid and quits doing what worked on their first drive. Waverly needs to open up the offense a bit more and eliminate the easy score in the first quarter.

Without this win CG will be a long shot to make the playoffs. For having 9 starters back on both sides of the ball this year they are not looking very good at this point.
Re: WEEK 5 (2-2) Waverly @ (2-2) Coal Grove
CG had great size on both sides of the ball, and had a lot of heart. I've yet to see Waverly play. Good luck to both teams!
Re: WEEK 5 (2-2) Waverly @ (2-2) Coal Grove
The line definitely needs to play better, they need to use the Murphy boy a lot more, # 19 seems to run hard and they don't use him that much. I guess it's play calling that's really hurting them , so I'll say let someone else call plays. There's been to many good coaches at Cg but they won't stay cause the Lucas's won't let them coach . Time for a change!!!!!

I seen CG in the jamboree game and thought they would be ok. I know it was only 2 quarters and our best RB didn't play but still. Thought they had a solid team. It seems to be that they can play with anyone for 2 quarters , however the 2nd half seems to be their issue. Hope they get it figured out.

I'll also say that next week against the burg they will return a playmaker like no other.not saying they will beat them but this kid plays 100% . He's had to sit out and I know he's itching to get out on the field to play ... Trust me you'll hear his name a lot ..
Re: WEEK 5 (2-2) Waverly @ (2-2) Coal Grove
Coal Grove shows up and tackles and plays smart they can and should win.
Problem is Coal Grove seems to make mistakes at crucial times ands forgets how to tackle properly.
Question is which Hornets team will show up the talented smart Hornet team.
Or the Undisciplined Hornets team.
The Smart Hornet team wins 35-20
Undisciplined Hornet team loses 41-18
