Typical homer post. Hartley certainly will win the region. Eastmoor is the only team that has a chance to match up with them but the Warriors won't get any better from the teams on their schedule, which is loaded with terrible city league caliber teams. Very undisciplined and not fundamentally sound. I'm confident Burg will win their token 1st round game like always before being eliminated and possibly a second rounder with a favorable seeding. St. Clairsville's schedule is anything but impressive also. Other then Ferry, they play no one. I have the Red Devils tagged as a pretender also.

Look at Hartley's results. Watch the video. They've lost by 10 to a defending michigan state champ who is 5-0 and by 12 at undefeated defending champ Coldwater.

Hartley is also very young and getting better. Big and fast. They beat a very good Marion-Franklin team with a backup quarterback.

That's the beauty of the playoffs. One has to get there to play the games. Once you are there anything can happen. But you have to get there first to even have your name in the hat Westfan. One thing West won't do this year.

Who cares who they beat? You have your opinion, but your evidence is beating a average undisciplined Marion Franklin team. Hartley was lucky to have won the Marion Franklin game. All you guys look at is they beat a former champion or a high division.

You sure seem confident about West. About as confident as you were about that upcoming butt whipping of Jackson?

So Coldwater is a pushover? Let Wheelersburg go play at Coldwater and see what happens.

Yes the game they lost. But I'm assuming a close 12 point loss at Coldwater is a little better than a 27 point loss at home to Jackson. But maybe I'm wrong.

This is the evidence? Losing to cold water d5 and losing to Jackson d3?

No, that's certainly not all I look at when formulating my opinions. I also took into account that Burg hasn't made it out of their region in what? 20 years now?

You obviously know nothing about Marion Franklin. This year they returned all of their top players from their 2013 final four team that destroyed Athens and almost beat STVSM in the final four. Marion Franklin is much better this year than last year. Also, pretty sure Hartley had more penalties in the game than Marion Franklin, so the undisciplined excuse is really not relevant.

Coldwater beat Hattley in a game that was split between two days. The game was called at halftime on the Friday night, so Hartley players got home around 3 AM, and had to be back on the bus at 8:45 AM to play the second half of the game that afternoon at Coldwater. Not making excuses for them losing, but I would imagine the players were physically and mentally drained from dealing with that.

Also note that Hartley beat Thurgood Marshall, who beat Winton Woods, and Middletown, and lost by a touchdown to Trotwood Madison.

I also watched Hartley shred the Eastmoor defense in the preseason. Not saying that means anything now, but Eastmoor was not even close to being as talented as Marion Franklin.

I'm not saying Hartley is the best team ever to play the game, but you are ignorant of you think that they are not the best team in the region.

So? Remember Versailles? Where are have they been? It's 2014, that's what counts. This year. Burg went to regional final last year, but you say they only win the token games. Your opinion is based on one fact, you don't like burg. Thar would be more reasonable to me than barely losing to cold water and barely beating a mediocre Marion Franklin team

Another piece of last years evidence. Burg smoked Jackson last year and brought over 50% of their o and d back.

They were very undisciplined. They were celebrating the third down play when Hartley lined up on 4th and walked in untouched to win the game.

No I don't dislike Burg at all. I certainly pull for them during non-conference and the playoffs. Fact is though, Burg is not a program that is capable of winning a regional championship anymore. Sure they've made the game a time or two in recent years but can't win it, which is a huge difference. Since Burgs last regional championship, PHS, Ironton, and West have all won one. I know your rose googles won't let you see that though. I fully expect you to comment appropriately after Hartley raises the Region 17 trophy later this year.

Wheelersburg is good. I think they are the favorite to win the league. But somewhere in the last few weeks burg fan's expectations have exceeded what is rational. They aren't as good as last year. Friday night should have proved that.

So let's see West go play Jackson and see what happens. Same what if's. When Burg get's there we will see what happens. That's why you play the game. Anything happens in the playoffs. Get there to play and if West does then I will be cheering them on the whole way. There's a reason your so defensive.

You'll find ignorance and Scioto County go together like mashed potatoes and gravy! Excellent post BTW!

At no point did I say they would win, I said they were a dark horse. Another reason why you dislike the burg. Speak for yourself on the scioto county bit.
