Well one thing is for sure, late the evening of 10/31 or early AM on 11/1 we should have it pretty well nailed down, although lol I think DeSales last game is on a Saturday so check that it probably be later on Saturday the 1st.

Nothing anyone can do until then except just win.

You are so stupid it's frightening

Look at DeSales schedule the past 5 years and tell me this schedule is as tough. Two years ago DeSales played 8 games against DI&II schools. This year DeSales is playing 3 DV's a DIV and a DVI!!!!! Proof is in the pudding! And I'll gladly make any wager you want that DeSales does not win Region 9. Put up or shut up!

1 6-0 Logan Elm 13.8500
2 6-0 Jackson Jackson 13.4000
3 5-1 Granville Granville 11.9667
4 5-1 Columbus Columbus St Francis DeSales 11.7904
5 6-0 The Plains Athens 11.7667
6 6-0 Dresden Tri-Valley 10.2667
7 4-2 Dover Dover 9.2374
8 4-2 New Philadelphia 8.2667

Tri Valley plays 1-D2, 1-D3, 6-D4, 1-D5, 1D6
Columbus Desales 1-D1, 2-D2, 2-D3, 1-D4, 3-D5, 1-D6
Granville 2-D2, 2-D3, 5-D4, 1-D6
Athens 1-D2, 1-D3, 4-D4, 3-D5, 1-D6

if you going on size of schools played only schedule wise it would be Granville, Desales, Than Athens and TV pretty much the same with Athens playing more D5's and TV playing more D4's. Desales also plays Chaminade, Hartley and New Albany traditional playoff powers. Athens played Steubenville a traditional playoff power and then along with TV they both played Zanesville which is way down this year and I'm not sure how many playoff runs they've made.

Yep, I wasn't thinking clearly. It was L3 points (which are only used as tie breakers) not L2 points.

I will put an analysis of Region 9 here after week 8 and after week 9. Last year, I correctly projected #1-7 in region 9 after week 9. I had DeSales as #8 and Logan Elm as #9 because I misguessed on their L2 points. Here is the link to last year's analysis:

Look forward to seeing it
It’s all about second level points now for Athens seeding.

Some say that DeSales has down graded their schedule but it's still a whole lot stronger than Athens and Tri-Valley. Which they can't help since they play in leagues with less then stellar competition. I don't care who you are, I would not want to travel to DeSales and play a first round game.

Logan Elm loses (I blame 93bulldog) and Chillicothe loses.
I assume DeSales won. So 10 of the top 12 teams in Region 9 won tonight.
More teams making a push to get in the top 8 than I thought would.

Logan Elm had six turnovers last night. Three of them were returned for touchdowns in Liberty Union's 22-0 win. LU only had 100 yards of total offense, but the turnovers were more than enough for them.

1 6-1 666 Granville Granville 16.4429 32.5 118.0 100
2 7-0 762 Jackson Jackson 15.8143 33.0 111.0 100
3 6-1 890 Circleville Logan Elm 14.7357 30.0 104.5 100

5 6-1 1348 Columbus Columbus St Francis DeSales 13.9654 32.0 93.0 99
6 7-0 1544 Dresden Tri-Valley 12.9286 34.5 80.0 100

9 4-3 1680 Millersburg West Holmes 10.0429 22.0 69.0 100
10 6-1 1420 Thornville Sheridan 9.7786 31.0 53.5 100

As of this morning top ten, Steubenville plays Saturday so Athens L2 may change and they and LE may switch spots. 8-9-10 are tight in points.

Time to worry about Week 8, a lot can still happen.

My mojo worked on LE - but I forgot about Granville.

Now they are throwing a monkey wrench into things.

Time to go up and hex the Aces this week!

I had the same sort of thoughts this morning. I did not expect Granville to win. Their success (and another Logan Elm loss) may still keep Athens and DeSales in the 4 and 5 spots after week 10. Granville also might end up with the #1 spot instead of Tri-Valley.

FYI: Granville plays the week 10 game on a Thursday (a game they could lose).

If (when) Sheridan loses to Tri-Valley in 6 days, their playoff chances are pretty much over. I think West Holmes has a good chance of winning out. That would likely mean WH gets the #8 seed and the loser of the week 10 Dover and New Philadelphia game would be out of the top 8.

As long as Athens and DeSales remain in the #4 and #5 spots I don't care who is in the #1 (or #8 for that matter) spot as long as it isn't Jackson lol.

The glass is half full ...

The silver lining ...

If DeSales is as good as everyone thinks, and if you think you'll have to face them sooner or later ... then do it at home week 11!

(4) Athens
(5) DeSales

May not be that bad of situation for the 'Dogs - especially if Tri-Valley/Jackson end up 2 & 3.

Sooner or later to be the best team in the Region you will have to beat some of the best to do it.

Week 11 if you are at home or are traveling there will be no easy outs, and week 12 and 13 for whoever gets there on neutral sites will be even more difficult.

I will continue to root for a Athens and Jackson match-up in Week 13 lol...most likely played at Logan...take a huge effort by the Ironmen to make it to that game, but this is what fans do and that is root for their team.

Go Red!

Somebody needs to crunch the numbers to see where an (8-2) Logan Elm and an (8-2) DeSales would land. If Tri-Valley, Jackson, Granville, Athens finish in the top 4 - that 5/6 spot becomes VERY interesting.

And has anyone checked to see if a 10-0 Tri-Valley is essentially a lock for the No. 1?
