Re: 2014-REGION 17
Moronic comments. Hartley played Muskegon Catholic Central, who not only won state last year, but also returned 18 starters from that team. Then they lost to Coldwater. I think we all know what Coldwater is one of the top programs in the state and has one of the best athletes in the state with their quarterback. Hartley this year is still much better than what Wheelersburg was last year.demaniac1 wrote:Coldwater beat a Kenton team that lost their coach. Coldwater beat a Hartley team that lost to a D7 Michigan team. Like playing Portsmouth Notre Dame. Im not sold on either Coldwater or Hartley this year. Im trying to find info on the turnover of Hartley players from last year. Not a good search so far. After only 2 weeks in the season, its hard to predict anything. Burg is playing good ball on both sides of the ball. But with Fairland and Portsmouth 0-2 so far, and if that continues, we could travel in week 1 of the playoffs.
Fairland and Portsmouth really don't do anything for the region. You don't make a playoff run without a defense. No disrespect, but his region is either Hartley or Liberty Unions to take.

While I don't agree with him about downplaying how good Hartley is, I don't think he is saying anything about Fairland or Portsmouth doing anything for the region. I think he is saying that if neither squad can produce second level points for Wheelersburg, then the Pirates may be on the road in week 11. Maybe I am wrong, but that is what I took from his comments.

Hartley got their first win of the season tonight against Marion Franklin 21-20. Marion Franklin was #4 in the state in DIII. Hartley very well could end up as the top seed in the region.

Bishop Hartley goes to (1-2) after a hard fought win tonight over D3 Marion Franklin (21-20). Hartley kicked the game winning extra point with zero time left on the clock to get the win.

Re: 2014-REGION 17
Hartley has already busted Drews projection. According to Drew, Hartley was a 9pt underdog last night. So now it looks like Hartley is playing with house money. Drews projection will probably change from a 4-6 projection to a 5-5 or better after last nights win.Old Bulldog wrote:Liberty Union playing Hartley in the 1st round. This is looking more and more like a possibility. I would say in whatever order those top 7 will probably make it. West and others are fighting for one spot. I don't think West will loose 3 more games without substantial injuries and such. I say we finish 6-4 to 8-2. 7-3 or better and we are probably in. Without a win over Valley or wheelersburg and we may be out.

Re: 2014-REGION 17
ironton will finish higher if they continue to play the way they have last 2 games!!
Re: 2014-REGION 17
Agree. Wasn't talking about the number of wins or order. Just the teams that will make it.cg-ironton fan wrote:ironton will finish higher if they continue to play the way they have last 2 games!!
Re: 2014-REGION 17
Yes, West at 7-3 with a win over Valley OR Wheelersburg should put them in. Hartley will pick up a ton more points against undefeated Div. III Jackson. Going to be great watching this region unfold into the playoffs.Westfan wrote:nutronron2012 wrote: This is what Drew Pasteur has projected after 2 weeks

Re: 2014-REGION 17
If West plays as they have they will beat Minford. And if they can't they don't deserve to go to the playoffs anyway. Waverly may be the surprise team that everyone is overlooking.cg-ironton fan wrote:is west like a auto win over minford ? or am i missing something here LOL
