I agree with Westfan....either do a complete recount or leave it alone. The next count is coming up this fall anyway. Even with the competitive balance referendum, you can't move more than 1 division at a time, so why do this partial recound of a couple schools?
I agree with Westfan too, I smell a rat in the $hithouse!

OHSAA is now showing the following: Marion Franklin & Beechcroft are listed in R13 Division 4.

Eastmoor in R17 Division 5.

Those regions just became much more difficult.

Looks like Eastmoor took over the #1 spot in the Region.

How did a school close (Brookhaven) and then 3 other schools drop so much in numbers, especially from D3 to D5?

So what schools moved up in Divisons, there had to be some schools that gained a lot of students somewhere around Columbus.

I have not seen LU play. Just from some buddies that have seen or heard about them.

Just wandering. What makes you think that LU is overrated. They looked like a pretty good team.

with this new alignment those 2 are like 99.9% out! they would have to win out + keep fingers crossed other things happen!!!

well maybe just win-out (but that wont happen for neither of those 2)

Here's the Divisional breakdowns between what OHSAA has listed and what Joe Eitel has, looks like the schools have already been moved on Joe Eitel also.

.......OHSAA.....Joe Eitel

D1......72............72
D2.....108...........104
D3.....108...........105
D4.....109...........110
D5.....108...........110
D6.....105...........104
D7.....105...........114

Total..715...........719

Here's what I read elsewhere:

Due to the closure of Brookhaven High School and in accordance with OHSAA Bylaw 2-1-6, all OHSAA member high schools within the Columbus City School District were reclassified based upon the actual number of boys and girls enrolled in grades 10, 11 and 12 as of September 10, 2014. This has altered some of their divisional alignments for the 2014 OHSAA Football Tournament. The changes, which are outlined below, are reflected on the Regional Boundary Maps and Schools by Division posted to our website.

Beechcroft from Division III to Division IV, Region 13
Briggs from Division II to Division III, Region 9
East from Division IV to Division V, Region 17
Eastmoor Academy from Division III to Division V, Region 17
Linden McKinley from Division IV to Division V, Region 17
Marion-Franklin from Division III to Division IV, Region 13
Mifflin from Division III to Division II, Region 5
Walnut Ridge from Division II to Division III, Region 9
West from Division II to Division III, Region 9

In addition, these changes caused Mount Gileads move from Region 17 to Region 16.

There was one other change, with Cincinnati Oyler dropping football, Ridgewood moved from Region 19 to Region 21.

Several schools have also been removed from the tournament listing for not meeting the minimum number of 8 regular season games as outlined in Football Tournament Regulation 4.4. There may be several other schools that are affected by this regulation, however, we do not anticipate any further changes to the divisional or regional alignments.

I read that Brookhavens kids went mostly to Mifflin and Beachwood, most of the Football players from Brookhaven went to Beachcroft with their Coach.

With Cincinnati Oyler dropping football, that'll affect Manchester football since they are in a D-VII Cincinnati football conference with now 5 other football schools. Still don't get why Manchester didn't join SOC I as an associate member in football. Traveling to 3 of their 5 schools in the OVAC is like traveling to Symmes Valley, but with lots of traffic lol. The other 2 are like traveling to Oak Hill, but with a bit of traffic lol. Travel-wise and competition-wise, SOC I sounds much better than the OVAC in football. I know this is way off topic and probably better if mentioned in Region 25 but had to express my opinion lol

Read this first and see if you don't agree with me!!!! This should have been dealt with in a completely different manner!!!! First they should penalize these schools by suspending them from the OHSAA for at least 1 year while an investigation is ongoing!!! These people lied to them!!!! Secondly since this went on for at least 10 years according to the states findings the OHSAA needs to investigate the issues this created in the past and further penalize these schools!!!! Where is the outrage ?????? This is a horrible mess on a scale that I can't even begin to fathom!!! What about eligibility issues since they were cooking the books ????? They had students that didn't exist and ones that did but were invisible!!!!!! THEY MUST BE AT A MINIMUM NOT ELIGIBLE FOR ANY STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS OR PLAYOFF APPEARANCES!!!!! This is a huge story being ignored by the most of the state's press!!! Wake up OHIO!!!!
