As for placement, Eastmoore Academy deserves to be in the correct classification, just like every other school deserves to be in the correct classification. Kudos to the OHSAA in dealing with this after the closing of Brookhaven H.S.
what about teams on borderline ??? they didnt get a recount i am sure they would like to drop down a division!!!

Don't waste your time arguing with that mouth piece, rational logic has eluded him.

What about those teams? Simple, they did not qualify for a recount due to the rules and bylaws of the OHSAA. You act like the OHSAA is making this up as they go along, but they are following the procedures set forth by the member institutions.

Oaf, believe what you want, but there is nothing rational about what some on here are proposing or "wanting". You included.

Rubbish. Since when is enrollment fraud standard procedure? I bet they wish they would have been done it a lot sooner with the reward they got. What a dumpster fire.

That is a criminal matter that is currently in the court! The OHSAA uses the numbers submitted by the individual schools to the ODE. And this fraud has/had nothing to do with athletics.

In this one little microcosm yes, you are making it seem like this is all about athletics, (but no one at CPS was saying hey, lets add a few hundred here and subtract a few hundred there to give our athletic teams a better chance), however this issue is a much broader one that will more than likely send several to jail. And at the end of the day, those schools are now in their proper divisions. Best of luck to all teams.

Seems like the timing for realignment was just a tad off huh?

I think most people were just caught off guard by the timing of the realignment. If it had been done in the summer, not nearly as much noise would have been made about it. Obviously, there is nothing we can do about it, so we all just have to win the next games on our schedule and let the chips fall where they may.

Well you cannot take a count until school actually begins, and what precipitated all of this was the closing of schools in Columbus. This actually happens anything there is a change in school boundaries and consolidations, nothing unusual here. The OHSAA released a bulletin in the spring of the procedure and the date on which the count would be taken. Which is the same date that schools reported their figures to the ODE. The date the count was taken I believe was 9/9

See post above, hard to count new enrollements over the summer when school has not begun. If you have a problem with this, contact your State Rep, as its the ODE who sets the count dates.

No One will go to jail. its just politics. they continually refer to the data man as a retire rehire. Sowhat? Half the administrators in this state are retire-Rehire AKA double dippers including the state superintendent of education

The issue of data scrubbing has nothing to do with "retire-rehire". So far that has already been felony convictions in this issue, and things are NOT done as of yet.

Exactly.

See above, this was announced in the SUMMER, and those who paid attention, and/or needed to know, knew! As for when the count took place, you have to wait until school begins to get a count for enrollement.

Wasn't Eastmoor #1 in Division 3 where Athens is before the change?
