Now how is it going to look? Very surprised at Liberty Union beating a 6-0 Logan Elm.

After tonight I would've thought West would be comfortably ahead of Liberty Union and almost assured a spot even with a loss to Wheelersburg. By the looks of this West may still have to win out to get in.

hey westfan

i looked at this and liberty union has 2 games left that cal preps say they will lose (circleville 35-22 , teays valley 35-20) if they lose those 2 and burg beats you all it will be very very close for that last spot!!!

i think martins ferry wins last 3 for sure!! (should get them in)

so you guys need to beat the burg!!!!!!!!!(get west in for sure )

my guess says run shoot 8 and oaf are correct about hartley being the team to beat in this region

Yeah I was a little shocked at West's lack of movement as well. Real log jam brewing. I still think 7-3 sneaks them in. St. Clairsville and Ferry are complete pretenders, thoroughly unimpressed with their schedules and results. Not sold entirely on Coshocton either but I have them above the other two. Burg and Ironton should be competitive in the region as will Liberty Union. If Eastmoor makes it in they will give everyone but Hartley fits with their athleticism and then of course that just leaves the Hawks. I can't logically see anyone besting them for the Regional Championship.

I look for Bishop Hartley to take over the 1 seed after this weeks game.

(Assuming no forfeits or other unusual events)....
Although it is still mathematically possible for others to make the playoffs,
the odds are overwhelming that the 8 playoff teams will come from the following 10:

St Clairsville (7-0)
Wheelersburg (6-1)
Bishop Hartley (Columbus) (5-2)
Ironton (5-1)
Coshocton (7-0)
Liberty Union (Baltimore) (5-2)
Eastmoor Academy (Columbus) (6-1)
Martins Ferry (6-1)
Portsmouth West (West Portsmouth) (5-2)
Alexander (Albany) (5-2)

Ironton can probably get a 1st round home game at 7-2
Although of course I want Ironton to win this region, I would make Hartley the favorite.

Anyone see the week 7 AP poll? No mention of Hartley, Ironton, or Wheelersburg getting any votes, while Eastmoor is still in the top ten. I know the polls mean nothing at all, but quite ridiculous that these teams aren't anywhere to be found in the rankings. I have a hard time believing these teams aren't in the top ten in the division.

Remove Alex as they have to beat NY (not likely)

This could be the sleeper region.
Eastmore is loaded.
Hartley is a beast.
Wheelersburg is dangerous to say the least.
Ironton has Improved and come together as a team since the Wheelersburg game.
Any of these teams can win it all IMO.
It will come down to who can play and not beat themselves with penalties.
And I'm not Discounting St.Clairsville LU Portsmouth West or the rest.
This is a loaded region IMO

hartley will finish 1st with wins in week 8 and 10
burg 2nd if they win last 3
and both this assumes ironton loses week 9

west i think is either going to have beat burg or hope liberty union loses those 2 close games they have

West was definitely put in a pickle with LU's win over Logan Elm. With 2 win Waverly and winless Fairland the next two weeks there just isn't many points to be had. Eastmoor and LU could loose a couple, the only sure way is to win out.

What sucks though is West is probably good enough with the right draw to win a couple games. They are playing well.

Liberty Union's win over Logan Elm was huge. BUT they still have to put the foil on and play a Teays Valley team that's trying to get in the playoffs and an always difficult Circleville squad. I think West will get in. Hopefully Wheelersburg and West won't have to play each other back to back weeks. No one wants to play the same team twice in the same year and I'd like to see SOC teams beat someone outside the league not bludgeon each other.

I don't see Burg moving to the #1 seed above Hartley. IF West beats Burg then they may get a week 11 rematch. However if Burg wins they Probably won't see each other til a regional final game and we all know that won't happen. Could see a rematch in the reg. final tho. That would be nice. Especially if it's a little closer to home this year.

I dont see how west gets in without beating wburg and im not sure that would be enough considering how little a bump they got from win over valley a number one at the time

west really needs indian creek to beat martins ferry OR liberty union lose to teays valley and circleville!!!

that indian creek / martin ferry game is worth 29.5 L2 points for ferry(playoff knockout punch if they lose)

The top 9 teams going into Week 8 are the only ones that have a chance of getting into the playoffs.
10th and below do not have enough possible points.
