I'd like to see a Liberty Union/ St.C rematch of last seasons first round. Of course this time with a different outcome! lolcg-ironton fan wrote:Jolly P(irate) wrote:Burg #2

According to Joe Eitel.
burg gonna finish 2 also!!! tigers be 4 with win regardless to what coshocton does and prob finish 5-6-7 with a loss!!!
i would say week 11 will be
eastmoor/p.west @ hartley
m .ferry @ burg
liberty union @ st clairsville
coshocton @ ironton

i think the 2 spot is a good place for Burg. Like to see Itown stay at 4 or 5. I would love to see a southern ohio regional final in Jackson this year.

Would much rather have West traveling to Hartley than to see Eastmoor in week 11.

I would have to agree. Hartley could potentially play all 3 southern ohio teams. They should get wore out somewhere in those 3 games.run n shoot 08 wrote:Would much rather have West traveling to Hartley than to see Eastmoor in week 11.

No way will Hartley get "wore out". It's Hartley that will wear everyone out. To fast, to physical, and play harder than any team I have seen for the past 7 weeks. The fact that the Hartley line is quick and not huge plays to their advantage. Starters should also be getting some needed rest this week and week one of the playoffs, as long as they come out and dominate early, as expected.
Hartley's big physical backs and fast backs will wear everyone down, just as they have all season. The most physical, disciplined, conditioned, and fastest team will win the region, and that's Hartley.

They can be beat just like anyone else. It's happened to them already. Southern Ohio is strong this year. With the way Burg is playin I like the chances.AHM wrote:I just dont see how anyone touches Hartley in this region. I know thats why they play the game, but i just cant even see it.

Hartley without a question is the premier team in this region. Anything can happen on any given night but it would take Hartley beating them self for somebody else to win this region. There is a huge gap between Hartley and the rest of the teams in Region 17. Hartley scheduled is unmatched by anybody in this Region.
This Region has one really good team and a number of solid teams that are capable of beating each other.

100% true, Hartley by far in a league of their ownBB #26 wrote:Hartley without a question is the premier team in this region. I know Hartly is good but they can be beat and have been beaten and will be beaten again. You guys on here put them why to high up. They put their pants on the same as our boys and they only play 11 at one time. They don't do good against good smash mouth teams that can also throw the ball. You put the hard licks on them like Coldwater does and you will get their results. You have to come to play hard for four quarters. I seen to many good teams give in on Hartly and they could have won. You have to believe it's your game when you take the field and put the fear of God in them on the very first play and if they are still standing then you repeat the first play over again and so on. Hartly dosen't like geting hit hard but they will try to stand up.
Re: 2014-REGION 17
If DeSales couldn't beat Hartley, NOBODY in 17 will touch them. Also, Coldwater would BLAST any team in the region too. A Coldwater/Hartley rematch in the state semi's will be epic.knightruner wrote:I know Hartly is good but they can be beat and have been beaten and will be beaten again. I'm still stuck on this Hartley thing. I watch the game against Marion Franklin and I have to say, it is very possible to beat this team. Stack the box and get into a slugfest. Last team with the ball wins IMO. It's very possible.

Yea. I think so too. Even though that was MFs game plan, and I know that lots of teams in southern Ohio are better than Marion Franklin.

And Im sure Hartley has not gotten better since week 3.

Yea, I'm sure your right. No one can beat the Big Bad Bishop Hartley. That's a joke. I hope they get a dose of the corn fed football this year and choke on it.AHM wrote:Jolly P(irate) wrote:I'm still stuck on this Hartley thing. Re: 2014-REGION 17
Yes, two teams beat Hartley; week one and week two. The first team they lost to was a defending state champ from Michigan, who returned 18 starters from their championship team. The second team that Hartley lost to was Coldwater. So unless Ironton, Wheelersburg, or anybody else miraculously became a championship caliber opponent, and one of the best teams in the state, nobody is beating Hartley in this region. I don't remember the last time a Southeastern Ohio team beat Hartley when it counted.Jolly P(irate) wrote:I'm still stuck on this Hartley thing. You do realize that the starting quarterback was injured and didn't even dress for the Marion Franklin game. Hartley converted a linebacker who has never played a down at quarterback in 3 days(Thursday night game). The starting quarterback, who didn't play week three against MF has rushed for close to 1,000 yards in just 8 games. So, as you can imagine, a crucial part of the Hartley offense was missing against MF.
I would love to see one of the Southeastern Ohio teams try to match up with MF. They are huge, fast, and talented. Remember, this is the same MF team that shredded Athens (best team in SE Ohio) last year in the playoffs. MF is better this year, than last.
This Hartley team looks better right now than last years team. And the scary thing is that they still have not reached their potential. They are still learning and getting better against some of the best competition the state has to offer. Not many teams start 0-2 and finish 8-2 hosting, with the number one seed, while playing the 12th toughest schedule in the state of Ohio. That takes toughness and great character.
Any team can be beaten on any day, but you have to be one of the best teams in the state to beat Hartley. Nobody in this region actually has the ability to beat this team. Maybe in other regions there could be a couple threats, but not in region 17. Teams can stack the box all night, it's not going to change the outcome.
Re: 2014-REGION 17
Must say I agree with what you're saying about Hartley. They are the overwhelming favorite to win the region. But if you feel so confident that no one can touch them. Why care who they draw in the playoffs?run n shoot 08 wrote:Would much rather have West traveling to Hartley than to see Eastmoor in week 11.
