Week 3: Valley (2-0) @ Piketon (1-1)

Post by nutronron2012 »

Piketon getting their first win of the season and this young Valley team getting more experience and confidence every week. The offense looking good and the defense looking better. Thoughts?

"young Valley team" ? Nearly the entire starting line-up is made up of Juniors. :)

No depth at Valley this year, but the players they have are very good and very fast. Piketon will play hard, they always do.

This will be ugly! Running clock in the 2nd half. Valley is way to athletic for Piketon this season

Valley gave up way too many points and yards tonight. Gotta get that fixed...but the offense has scored 41, 42, 63 so thats a good thing.

Congrats to the Indians on a 3 score victory and notching #33.

The Streaks out gained Valley by about 200 yards tonight. Valley's longest scoring drive was 60 yards. Rolfe is the best QB I've seen in a while. But, why is he playing defense when up 29 in the 4th quarter?

I also heard Valley was playing on a short field. As you saw tonight, Valley tends to give up yards and points theyve scored 146 points and given up 102 points in 3 games, so the defense is a major work in progress. I think with how Piketon was moving and tossing the ball, it was all about reps.

piKeton beat our defensive line last night ....our linebackers had 3 or 4 people in front of them all night an we got burnt on 2 real nice throws for 60 yds each or so . However we had a pick 6 and a good 3 and out to start the 3rd qtr after piketon touched a knee down fielding the kickoff
On their own 7 or 8 yd line ... that got valley another easy score ...piketon had 514 yds offense per the radio men ...valley 362 think they said . Hopefully the big boys are back soon and we
Use them to plug holes in D and let the get into game shape cause offensively we doing fine

Yea It would be nice to get the injured players back out there. Any status on them?

My thoughts on last night, the kicking game for Valley made Piketon stRt on avg around their own 30 or so. The lack of kicking game for Piketon gave Valley starting at mid field. There is your difference in yards gained. I said during warmups if the Streaks lose the turnover battle they get beat by 30. Piketon losing williams last week took away their speed rusher, they could not get Rolfe in a hurry very much. Valley is good and Piketon showed some very good signs as well. I like the matchup.
