Apparently you quit following Logan football around 2002 or so. The only non-league team below D3 that Logan SCHEDULED from 2003-2009 was Columbus DeSales. Logan moved to D2 starting in 2007.

Logan's non-league schedule starting in 2003:

2003:
Westerville South (D1)
Chillicothe (D2)
Pickerington North (D3, first year of existence)
DeSales (D2 or D3)

2004:
Lancaster (D1)
Chillicothe (D2)
Pick North (D1)
Zanesville (D2)
Gahanna-Lincoln (D1)

2005:
Lancaster (D1)
Chillicothe (D2)
Pick North (D1)
Zanesville (D2)
Gahanna-Lincoln (D1)

2006:
Lancaster (D1)
Chillicothe (D2) (CHS joined SEOAL, but this was a non-league game)
Pickerington North (D1)

2007:
Lancaster (D1)
Chillicothe (D2)
Pickerington North (D1)

2008:
Lancaster (D1)
Pickerington NOrth (D1)
Hamilton Township (D2)
Gallia Academy (D4) (Replaced D3 Athens when AHS left SEOAL)

2009:
Lancaster (D1)
Pick NOrth (D1)
Hamilton Twp (D2)
Gallia Academy (D4)

2010:
Lancaster (D1)
Pick North (D1)
Reynoldsburg (D1)
Zanesville (D2)

2011:
Lancaster (D1)
Pick North (D1)
Reynoldsburg (D1)
Jonathan Alder (D3)
Nelsonville-York (D5) (Replace D2 Marietta who left SEOAL)
Zanesville (D2)

2012:
Lancaster (D1)
Northland (D2)
Newark (D1)
Jonathan Alder (D3)
Nelsonville-York (D5)

2013:
Lancaster (D1)
Teays Valley (D2)
Newark (D1)
Loudonville (D5)
Nelsonville-York (D6)
Zanesville (D2)

2014:
Lancaster (D1)
Teays Valley (D2)
Meigs (D4)
Loudonville (D6)
Nelsonville-York (D6)
Zanesville (D2)

2015:
Athens (D3)
Teays Valley (D2)
Meigs (D4)
Cambridge (D3)
Nelsonville-York (D6)
Columbus DeSales (D3)
OPEN WEEK 6

The OCC (week 4), Mid-State (week 4), Muskingum Valley (only 1 non-league game per team), SCOL (week 4) and ECOL (week5) all start their league play in the first half of the season. Logan has gone out and scheduled the best teams from the TVC and Columbus Central Catholic league to fill in dates. Trust me, the Logan A.D. would love to have an easier travel game than Loudonville, but had to get a week 4 game (and needed a home game for 2013).

Logan only has 4 home games in 2014, but financially it works out because two of them were Lancaster and Nelsonville-York.

Logan is the Big School while the other schools are smaller...
Athens/VC are the big schools while the rest are smaller...

People get caught up too much on school size, especially since the Divisions have changed...

As usual, we largely agree questionmark.

And I did not imply at all that Athens shouldn't be proud to have developed Burrow. Every school benefits from kids moving into the district whether it happens in the third grade (Like Matt Mong, a classmate of mine and LHS Athletic Hall of Famer) or the 12th grade.

Burrow is a special special special talent. The best I have seen in SE Ohio. Many schools in our area would move from "playoff hopefuls" to "state champion contenders" with his addition.

Ryan Adams work pre-Burrow shows how much he's done for the program.

Just think fuzzhead could not be MORE wrong about the SEOAL/TVC dynamic. The reality is that the SEOAL became a "sinking ship" when the TVC invited Athens. In fact, 4 schools had JUST decided to jump on the "sinking ship."

If the TVC never invites Athens, I definitely think the four "additions" would have left, but AHS and Marietta would still be members.

It was a NO BRAINER for Athens to go. Reduced travel, local gates, etc.

Ryan Adams was going to build a program either place though.

They went from being a joke to arguably the best football program in SE Ohio by scheduling realistically and building from there. Now, they've lost 1 regular season game in the last 3 years, have had playoff success, and are have Steubenville on the schedule this year. I remember how the Logan faithful ridiculed Athens on this site for skipping out on the SEOAL and accused them of not wanting to take their lumps. It seems the tables have turned and Logan is playing catch up.
They also had a QB good enough to go play at Ohio State transfer into the school district. If only the rest of SE Ohio could be so lucky.

Coach Adams at Athens is a great coach and has done a great job building a very good program there. And Athens is NOT a one man team.

But let's not pretend that leaving the SEOAL or their scheduling is the reason they've had playoff success. They've also had the most talent, headlined by Mr. Burrow.
No point you've argued here contradicts what I said. Athens made a calculated decision to leave the SEOAL and were ridiculed for it by many Logan fans. That happened. One of the things they were ridiculed for was going to a conference in which every co-member school was significantly smaller than Athens. My point was to show the irony of the situation, as Logan finds itself playing teams much smaller than itself as it still clings to the SEOAL. The move to the TVC did not hurt Athens and in many ways (as you alluded to) it was smart.

There isn't any irony. Athens , by choice, elected to leave a league they were getting their butts whipped in to move to a league where they would be the largest school by far. Logan, when they joined the SEOAL was never one of the big schools. That situation grew over time ( since 1925) and only recently in SEOAL history has Logan finally become the largest school. No one has offered Logan a spot in another league ( OCC, MVL, TVC, MSL, etc), so its not like they had somewhere to go. The rub here for many a clown in SEO is that many envy Logan's success but wish to dismiss Logan was winning championships in the SEOAL decades and decades ago when they were one of the smaller schools. Logan stayed and competed, even as a small school. Others have simply cut & run. The Chiefs appreciate the envy displayed by many who seek to play the school size card now when Logan final becomes the biggest school while hidng from the fact Logan was a small school at one time in the SEOAL and still won. 8)

First class envy is widely exposed !

On an area-wide level (SE Ohio) Logan's success has been minimal. To revel in winning your conference with no state-level results to show for it is frankly pathetic, no matter how big or small your school is. By all means, play the martyr card and claim that Logan did the "honorable thing" by sticking with their long-time conference. That has done nothing for their program.

If merely formerly living in the same county as the City of Ironton makes me a "tigger fan" then I guess I fit the bill. I'm a fan of high school football. i actually attended Dawson-Bryant (Coal Grove). The Hornets, like the Chiefs, have 20-something conference titles with a smattering of playoff berths. Conference titles look great on banners, but are by no means a standard of state or even area-wide accomplishment. And I think you realize that.

all this bitching about league champion ships and state titles, and who plays bigger, tuffer schedules is just bull! From a group people who want to live off the wins and losses of all the young men that play the sport for the pure fun of it. they are not pro's they do it for the fun of it. I played for one of the worst teams in the state, didnt win any league ,or state titles and yes all the losses hurt at the time, but was still the best time of my life. we all need to remember they are the ones that win or lose out there and our bitching doesnt make any difference..

I can see either team winning this game.
I'm gonna give Logan a very slight edge in this one.
