Heres the problem -- Logan has a great passing attack. They score often. But so far have lacked a run game that helps to control the ball and eat up clock. When you average 41 pts a game, you should win a lot of games. But if you are giving up 43.5 pts a game, as Logan is, its tough to win. Game could be close. I think the Chiefs are due for a win, but it could be close.

Both of you guy's need to slow down the drinking of Kool-Aid. I believe the Chiefs, if the offence becomes a little more balanced and the defense starts to settle down we will secure a win against Meigs. I look for the score to be:

Logan 35

Meigs 21

Beautiful new stadium at the school. It's just a hop-skip-and-a-jump from Athens.

It is a beautiful stadium, was there for a GAHS scrimmage and remember the visitor side bleachers being very small, smaller than GAHS, and that is small...LOL,,, might want to take a lawn chair or sit on the Meigs side...

Anyone have an update on the status of the Meigs players who were out on Friday?

Meigs is a tough team to scout. They do a LOT on offense - tons of formations, tons of movement amongst skill players, lots of players can do a lot of things. Very impressed with the depth of stuff they do on offense.

Always good to see historical rivals playing each other. Should happen more often.

Was a great series between Meigs and Logan.

I'll post the history later in the week, but the Chieftains lead the all-time series 7-6-1.

1967, the first year for MHS, was possibly the best Logan team that didn't win the SEOAL championship. Lost to Meigs 14-6 for their only lost. Beat Bexley and Hilliard in non-league games going 8-1. They allowed 54 points all season, and Meigs was the only team to score more than once against them all season long.

Terrific team that sent Chuck Kemper to play for O.U. and Mel Brooker to play for Navy. Game was a tough one to lose because we had great talent and that was the only league loss but cost us the championship. Meigs was in the first year of consolidation with Pomeroy, Middleport and Rutland H.S. Rutland had good small school teams. Middleport was awful but usually had a good player or two and Pomeroy was average in the SEOAL. Meigs hired the recently fired Marshall Univ. coach who used a tight Slot I offense. They had a little fireplug RB at Tailback and they ran him into the Power Slot ( type of off-tackle play) and we couldn't stop it. 3-4 yds every time they ran it and they ran it all night. Controlled the ball and the clock. Logan let one get away that night and a title along with it.

Meigs used to be pretty tough back in the day! I remember in 1977 they played Ironton real tough the week before Logan beat them in that epic game at the Tank.
