Isn't this the 101st meeting of these two teams?

I'd be surprised if Wellston gets passed the 50 yard line in the first half.......

Their will be a running clock to start the second half.

These rivalry games are so hard to predict.

Jackson will be playing to not lose or not make mistakes to some degree and Wellston will be playing to win, probably taking some chances or running some plays that they may not do in a TVC league game so you just do not know what to expect.

If Wellston strikes first and then there is a Jackson turnover or two you just don't know how each team will react. If Jackson comes out the aggressor and things go there way alternatively (like what happened last year) then the Rockets may not react good.

Just too hard to predict really, but I do believe each team will have some success against the other, but look for momentum to really drive the outcome in this one a little bit more than a "regular" season game.

I disagree DP. These Ironmen don't play not to lose no matter why their playing. From I see they play to punish people and play with attitude. I think the pressure is on Wellston. They have a ton of experience and from wht I'm reading a very good backfield. Wellstons staff needs a good showing against Jackson. I still think Jacksom grinds out a win.

Lol. I said "to some degree" Viking96. What I mean by that is if "you are supposed to win" or are told that or think that then you tend to play differently than if you are playing from an underdog role or with an underdog mentality.

Lest we forget the trip we made into Wellston a few back when we were "supposed to win" number 20 in a row. Meanwhile Wellston and company were playing to win and had us on our heel quick with a score and then a Jackson turnover as I recall or maybe it was a stop on 4th down I forget. But at any rate the tide changed quickly and Wellston all of a sudden played differently and Jackson panicked a bit and also played differently.

All I am saying is to prevent history (or in Wellston's case to repeat history) one can learn a lot by how each team approached that game and then reacted to the circumstances.

There's no Prater or Osborne in Wellston this year and Jackson defense will like a meat grinder for Wellston backs to run through. Osborne was one of the best all round football players to ever play at Wellston or Jackson.

Austin being one of the best all around players and playmaker at both schools is something I think we all could agree with.

He absolutely ran the ball well last year for the Rockets.
Look for him to have a much better season this year!
How many rushing yards you think this sophomore get Saturday? Will he break 100?

Roseberry cooper rawlins
230 200 200
Sexton Williams Potter Barger Fitch
205 235 230 225 185
Conley Massie Raferty
180 185 185
There big fast strong and aggressive. No back for the Rockets puts up more than 30 yards against first team unless they get good run off trick play.

I couldn't tell anyone how many yards the sophomore back will have!
But I can say that he is very strong runner from what I seen last year!
Wellston fans are expecting him to lead them to some victory's this season!
Don't forget it all starts upfront for any great RB!

GOOD LUCK THIS SEASON TO THE ROCKETS!!!!

Both of Wellston's backs are sophomores and will be solid this year. However,.. This game will not be determined by the skill position. Wellston's O Line has to be able to block Jackson's front. In 2010 Wellston out played Jackson up front therefore they got the victory. Keep the ball on the field and out of jackson's hands. Wellston cannot afford to have multiple 3 and outs and turnovers. This game is won up front,.. If the Skill players determined the outcome of this game the best Running Back in Jackson county history would not be 0-4 against Jackson.

Pretty sure Wolford was undefeated in these matchups....

Back whenever I was in school, I encouraged my team mates to stay off of this website. Or if they got on here to only look and not post/reply to anything. Some people don't understand that they need to actually focus on the game rather than old-timers talking about football. They'll have their opportunity to post on her and discuss things once they are out of school and no longer playing a sport.

I have to disagree with you Blue Duck. This game here, Jackson vs Wellston will come down to which team has more heart..

In these kind of match-ups/situations you can throw everything out of the window. Size, speed, height, weight, etc all of that doesn't matter in a rivalry game. What it comes down to is which team has the most heart and which team absolutely wants it more.
