Portsmouth has some very dangerous skill players, and if the o-line shows better play this year, then watch out....they might be the Trojans of old.

I will take PHS in a high-scoring game.

However they got it? Care to elaborate? If you are insinuating what I think you are, you may wanna look in the mirror at your basketball program.

Quick some one get the ice water challenge buckets this guy just got burned!! Lol seriously though IMO valley is a little down this year. Maybe due to young players I don't know. But I do know that Portsmouth is very talented because just like valley this year they were young last year. Valley will be back the talent is there just needs fine tuned! Still think Portsmouth rolls big in this one but I hope I'm wrong. I would love to see valley undefeated coming into burg! Good luck INDIANS!!

The thing about Valley now, is they have played in and won the big games against all opponents, so I'm not worried about the attitude or effort, I am a little concerned about the bumps and bruises we have, and not having a few of the big boys in the middle could hurt if they miss time. The key to me is the LB's wrapping up and making tackles. I've heard that the LB's have a lot of speed and cover ground in a hurry, and that is EXACTLY what will be needed against the speedy Portsmouth backs. If Valley plays fundamental football, they will be in the game and have a chance to win. I still like the Indians here, but of course I'm biased.

This is a great matchup to start the season! To me, this game is a toss-up. Valley lost a lot of size to graduation and that is hard to replace. I agree that Valley will have the attitude and effort in perspective, but if Portsmouth is able to find a defense, they will be tough for most teams on their schedule to handle.

This may be very even. Skilled vs skilled. Valley has a proven coach. Have to give the Indians the edge. 34-28

This is the first night of a great football weekend. Will attend my first game at Valley on Thursday and then to Burg on Friday and then Wellston on Saturday.

Look forward to this one especially think it will show a lot for Portsmouth and may set them off on a course to make some noise in the SEOAL in their last season playing in the league. Going with the Trojans in a mild "upset".

Wish both teams the best but hoping for an Indian win....This has turned into quite an opening for both teams. Valley has had the upper hand but I'm having some doubts this year. The line play will be the biggest obstacle from what I'm hearing. Also, my cousin in Portsmouth has been too darn quiet about this year's team and that really worries me... :12224

LOL!! Easy big fella!!! Just being a rival fan. At the same time, it is an interesting story of how Valley went from losing 5 straight to Minford, to not only winning 3 straight, but also been 10-0 the last 3 years, and winning 5 playoff games. If you read my entire previous post, then u would've seen that I gave your brother a compliment.

Prior to losing 5 straight to Minford, Valley had beaten then something like 18 out of 20.....

It will be interesting to see if PHS has made improvements to the defense, although any improvement will be an improvement

Portsmouth will go 5-5 this year realistically. 7-3 would be sensational.

Would love to be proven wrong and see them at 10-0. No defense for 8 years. Not coming this year.

With the athlete's they have on offense their defense doesn't have to be great. They just need to be better than last year to keep them in games.

The defense was improved last year under coach sparks compared to where it was in previous years. I feel it will be even more improved this year. It will all come down to stopping the run for the Trojans. I feel the offense will put up enough points to win most games, the defense will need to make some stops in order for this season to be a success. Thursday night is almost here...can't wait!

Trojans- 38 Valley 21
If the Trojans can play some Defense this year to go with there Offense this could defiantly be a playoff team and a dangerous playoff team at that! just got to wait and see if the Defense shows up.

Yes, Minford obviously was not a very good program before the 5 game winning streak...
