Re: Athens basketball 2014/2015
If Burrow played basketball year around - it may have been the other way around TheBarlowBandit ... and Burrow only had one down game versus Warren in his entire career ... He lit the Warriors up like a Christmas tree in both the regular season game - and the regionals - in 2013.
If you want to throw football in the mix - wow - it's unbelievable ... His numbers versus Warren are beyond video game stats.

Griffin Lutz made the list as one of the top players in Nashville camp. I plan on seeing him dominate SEO next year

Lutz played really well at Logan Elm last night. Athens beat both Unioto and Logan Elm, looking pretty impressive without Adam and Zacciah.
Re: Athens basketball 2014/2015
my lands I've heard rumor Lutz is moving. Lots of rumors about these kids. Hopefully in the final year of four they can finally make the State Tournament.
Re: Athens basketball 2014/2015
Why can't you keep your guys down there 78? Is it your kids that play AAU get exposed to other coaching and competition and decide to move on? Thats a a good group of athletes bu it would be tough for your dogs to lose another playerathens78 wrote:my lands I've heard rumor Lutz is moving. Lots of rumors about these kids. The AAU circuit is huge. AAU coaches have connections through High School coaches and it's just a feeder system for some schools. That and I believe Pick Central's head coach is an ex Buckeye player. So kids like that and of course he would have all kinds of AAU contacts. Good to see them go 4-0 yesterday, however I'm not a big believer in summer ball results. I've seen teams win every game in the summer and finish .500 in regular season. EVen with the losses Athens will be at the head of the TVC again.

Lutz is not moving. I guess people start rumors to see how people will respond

Thats good news for the Dogs about Lutz staying put this year. With Watson gone and Burrow saying that interview I watched that he's leaving early to start his football career that would be their three best players out of the picture. It will be a big load for Lutz to carry this year. They should still compete for a TVC title.

Burrow is a 17-year old kid, who was caught up in the moment, in front of dozens of reporters.
He has been traveling and playing with the basketball team all summer. I don't think he would do that if he didn't plan on playing.

I agree. Posters were saying he said in an interview that he would leave high school earley.he did make a coment to that in an earley interview.
but later in the interview (thats posted above) when he is asked the question of leaving he says he playing B-Ball his senior wear. i'm sure things
can change but I hope Joe finihses high school with his friends and plays B-Ball.

Seems 78 doesn't think the summer really means anything if it is Athens but if you are Trimble well this is what you get....athens78 wrote:The AAU circuit is huge. Athens has Burrow and Lutz. They are still the heavy favorites to play whoever comes out of cbus. Athens and ST. V ever schedule a game this year?
