I personally cant wait to see the revamped Flyers playing their home games on this field. I noticed their were no pictures of the endzone opposite the band seating. Is it being done in St Joe colors?

I'm anxious to see how the rubber "padding" is installed. I see its all ready to go in large bags on the parking lot. They must vibrate it into the turf somehow. I'll soon see I guess.

The do this to put the pellets down


And then drag it with one of these to "fluff up" the grass so that the pellets fall down to the backing. Dragging it with one of these is about the only regular maintenance required to keep it looking nice. It takes a lot of grooming early to get the pellets down into the turf so that they arent visible.

Beautiful!! Mixing a new playing surface with all of the history. Very nice! I just wish the Blue Devils were playing there this season so I could see it In person! Maybe the A.D. will try to get the Tigers back on the schedule.

I went by today and got a first hand look see. You can look at all the pictures you want but until you see it first hand it will amaze you. You can't imagine just how nice it really is until you get a close up view. I have to say this is a first class job. These kids will have something to be proud of here in Ironton.

the next time ole bait comes to ironton, I'm gonna have my own collection of pictures of this grand ole lady. until then , keep em rolling in. I'm so excited seein the pictures here and on facebook. this is a season I'm looking forward to with much anticipation, and a big turn around from the tigers--------------YOU BUILD IT, THEY WILL COME.
