Ironton will have nearly everyone back this season from last years team, as they lose one starting back and two starting lineman. They will still have both linebackers, quarterback, fullback, power running back who was out most of last season, and majority of their line. This year should be fun to watch. There are still a couple of good athletes that didn't go out last season that haven't committed yet to whether they will play yet. It could really help having them, but if not the team will be strong. This past season they played against all eighth grade teams. When watching other 7th grade teams Ironton looked to be much stronger. This year there are a couple of good linemen and backs who might see some good playing time moving up from the 6th grade too.

Football is a year round sport at Ironton..we had a tough year last season and hoping for a nice recovery this year. Would love to get a take on what all the local schools have coming out this year.

South Point should have a really good team. I think they only had like a handful of 8th graders play last year so most were 7th graders playing in 8th grade games.

Jackson, Burg and West all had good teams last season. Ironton has nearly everyone back from last years team and should have a couple more that were either injured or didn't play for some other reason. South Point has a good looking quarterback and if they have most of their team back, they could hang with anyone. Sounds like a fun year coming up.

Coal Grove needs to be mentioned in this conversation. The last time they lost a game was during the 2011 season when they went 7-1 for the season. They are currently riding a 20 plus game winning streak and have a very talented group of 7th graders ready to continue a very good football tradition at Coal Grove Jr. High.

They did play West 7th grade last year and gave them a good game.

Whichever team has the most kids with arm pit hair will win the most games. It's science.

Although their record was not great, I am looking for the Logan Chieftains to reload this year. A lot more kids are going to be coming out, and if anyone saw Logan's game then it is obvious they need size. size that will be out this year to play ball. They have a stable of running backs that I think in this spread run game could become play makers
