Re: Wheelersburg vs. Bishop Ready (regional semi)
Good luck Burg....I know you'll represent in true fashion...Yeah, those polls mean absolutely nothing other than giving kids/fans something to chew fat about on a Sat night.

According to MaxPreps Ready is the 81st ranked team in Ohio. Wheelersburg is 121st.

Its a good thing that MaxPreps doesn't hand out the trophies at the end of the year.BishopReadyFootball wrote:According to MaxPreps Ready is the 81st ranked team in Ohio. Wheelersburg is 121st.
All that matters is that they are both in the 16 remaining teams in D3.

Anyone know if they are thinking of postponing these games because of the weather? Athens is under a Winter Weather Advisory with icy roads and blowing snow starting late this afternoon and lasting into the evening.

I am not sure if those of us in the southern part of the state would be as affected as those driving back to Bishop Ready and Martins Ferry. I would think they would have to announce something really soon if it was going to be changed.Burg_Grad_77 wrote:Anyone know if they are thinking of postponing these games because of the weather? BG was looking at getting 6-8 inches last I heard. Athens was more like 2 inches. I would hope they don't postpone...

And I agree otherwise neither of us would win. Haha... Just trying to create conversation... Huddle is dead.
Re: Wheelersburg vs. Bishop Ready (regional semi)
I agree. If they were going to change the Athens games, I think they would have already announced it. I don't think the snow will be a problem, but the icy roads could make travel a little rough on the way home. Most of the roads driven by Burg fans to Athens are very rural and hilly, so ice would be more of a factor if the roads are wet and it gets a lot colder.BishopReadyFootball wrote:BG was looking at getting 6-8 inches last I heard. Agreed. It being rural roads makes it rough. Stay safe on the drive tonight!

Re: Wheelersburg vs. Bishop Ready (regional semi)
I was still shocked when they canceled the games on that Sunday, but they had to and it turned out to be the right decision. It got really nasty later on . This might be the same scenario here.
Like someone said on another thread, there are already games at the Convo tomorrow night and Friday.
I say move the DIII semis to Saturday and the Final Sunday. Can they really take a chance of a busload of kids sliding off the road or anyone else getting injured for that matter?

I am pretty sure its too late to reschedule now.....leave early and drive carefully! I will probably be heading up by 4:30 to make sure I get to see the whole Valley game.yabbadabbadoo wrote:I was still shocked when they canceled the games on that Sunday, but they had to and it turned out to be the right decision. Good luck burg! Let's ensure and SOC team wins the Region!
Re: Wheelersburg vs. Bishop Ready (regional semi)
22-19 Bishop Ready at the half. Pretty evenly matched game. Burg missed 4 freebies in a row at the end of the half.

Sounds like a strong showing so far. Go Burg!
How were the crowds tonight?

Ready controlling the game. 34-25 after 3. Crowd could probably fill the lower bowl if everyone filled in.
