Great season by Burg and Coach Ater and his staff. Tonight Burg just didn't take care of the ball and Ready made them pay for it. Also, Ready had a great plan and took Miller out of the game for the most part. Ready has a nice team, but they will struggle with the size of Valley.

Nice run Pirates. Just ran up against a much better team. They controlled the ball on offense, working it around until they got layups.

There defense was tough as well. A little overzealous at some times but as long as the calls weren't being made to keep the defender from putting a body on the person with the ball, why stop? In college this year with the new rules that is a foul. In no way do I think the officiating played a part in this game. Ready was just more physical and got after it more. Way to many turnover's by Burg and that was caused by the tough defense.

Thanks Burg seniors for all of your hard work and dedication to the program. Sometimes it is hard to adjust to a new coach coming in and everyone on the team did great with that. No one expected Burg to even make it to the convo let alone get two games away from the Final Four.

Hats off to Coach Ater. I think the Burg has a great future with him at the helm. Burg has some talent coming up so look for them to be back to the convo next year.

After the game last night, I learned an interesting fact from drrabbitt. The previous 2 times Burg had a new coach, they both (Lovengueth 1984 and Barrick 1995) took their first year team to the state championship game. I am not trying to slight the accomplishment of Coach Ater and his staff in any way, but it was just an interesting bit of trivia.
