Why not? Sure there are work and school logistics, but 95% of situations will be adjustable. And those who can't make it would assuredly sacrifice their viewing of the game for the joy of the players being able to play on the convo floor.bman wrote: I don't see a 4 p.m. game being an option, as someone suggested above.

Re: Convo 3/3 D4 District Semis
Trickier indeed. I'm guessing teams will either (a) have to play at a different site or (b) have advantages/disadvantages with rest (number of days between games).
The Convo is completely clear Saturday and Sunday. They can do what the state tournament does and play back-to-back days if need be. Finding a spot for tonight's postponements is the hard part. Can't do Tuesday because of the other 2 DIV games. Can't do Wed because of the OU women's. Can't do Thur or Friday because of the DIII games. So what now?
The only fair way to keep the days of rest even is to play the DIV games scheduled for tonight at an alternate location tomorrow (Tuesday).

Re: Convo 3/3 D4 District Semis
What an absolute shame it would be to move only the teams that played today to another location. Then, all other D4, D3, and D2 will still be playing at the Convo. I don't think the timeframe would bother many coaches. I think giving the kids an opportunity to play at a once in a lifetime environment is the most important.
Hopefully the powers to be can think of a solution. However, like others have stated, with the crowded schedule the Convo has this week I just don't know what they will decide.

They could move ALL DIV semi-final games to Saturday - winners play Sunday.
It's a stretch - but they would all get to play at the Convo. Only problem is, the teams playing Tuesday night would absolutely hate that idea.

I agree, dog. No matter the decision, there's going to be some unhappy fans/coaches.93Bulldog wrote:They could move ALL DIV semi-final games to Saturday - winners play Sunday.

The short comeback shouldn't have any effect on the games. These boys have done it all year with the Friday-Saturday games.
I remember back in 1984 for some odd reason they played the district semi-final Friday night and the District final saturday night. I think snow might have played a factor then.

Would be cool to have St. Joe @ 4 Friday. Would have 3 Lawrence County schools (ISJ, CG, & SP) playing back to back to back.

93dog: I thought about the Sat/Sun scenario for D4, but then the winners' Regional semi games are two days later against well-rested Columbus teams (whereas both our D4 district champs would be playing their 3rd game in 4 days). I don't have a problem with back to back games against each other, but that would be a competitive advantage to the Columbus teams at that point.

D IV games scheduled for tonight will be played Thursday.
Also, I was just told by Wayne Horsley that ALL games will be played at the Convo!

socfan: glad to hear!
bman: looks like your scenario might not be too far off. Glad I was wrong about this one...as others have said, if possible, all these kids deserve a game at the Convo!*

Can someone list the schedule for the Convo for rest of the week? It has moved around so much, I can't keep up!

How will they do times for Thursday? That means 4 games (with the DIII match-ups)socfan wrote:D IV games scheduled for tonight will be played Thursday.

hate it that they arent playing tonight. Hope that this is true and they work it out so every team that earned the chance to play at the convo gets that chance.

Yeah, a schedule would be nice. Are the two DIII games still being played Thursday?

You had to in order to keep all of the games at the Convo. Not ideal, but sometimes things have to be flexible. I was close on the final schedule, except for the D4 finals.

No complaints from me, Saturday at the Convo will work just fine. Now we just need Mother Nature to slow her roll justabit.
Decision-makers: kudos on keeping all of the games at the Convo!
