He's a young coach, and his staff is young. They'll make some mistakes, but who doesn't? He's just trying to start a program in a way that he knows will be successful.

You have to trust him and the staff just as you have to trust the people the school hires as teachers to educate the kids. Either way, we will see how it goes. I'm excited and interesting.

For the people that are calling out Coach Ridout, c'mon...is it really necessary?

(and they may be who knows) the point is he has never had his own varisty team, assembled a staff, and so on. Much like the assistants so far have never had the level of importance given to them in a varsity setting. To have to point out the obvious to you means you are either a spin master or stupid.
The only spin master is you. Always trying to spin a negitive light trying to enhance your twisted agenda. How much more importance would you like him to have? H was the offensive coordinator for a playoff caliber team. You do understand what that means right? let me explain it for you. He was in charge of the offense. He called every play that beat us! Not to mention every call that beat Wheelersburg and Valley. So until you have a resume that is better than that you may not want to question how much experience he has.
Noles when LU walked on the field last year you could tell we were outmatched. But we have all the experience this year and with the greatness of Coach Johnson in are corner we are bound to go far this year. SOC!
I never said our kids were out matched or couldn't play with their kids. The only point I was making is he has experience in what would be big games for West. No one is on here saying he is going to have a undefeated season right out of the gate. But I do think they will win the games they are supose to win and be in the rest.

I would say that West has a bright future with a new young coach with young assistants who have college experience. Give them a couple of years before you start running them out of town. You may be surprised with the results.

This doesn't make sense. There are two factors; your talent level and your level of experience. You said you could tell that we were outmatched physically last year then we will be this year also, since a large part of the starters are returning. I don't agree with it, but by going by what you said that will be the case. I think LU was more talented, but not 33-6 more talented. We were out played and out coached.

Are kids bigger and stronger as juniors and seniors? Yes. But LU had won the region the previous season (2012) with a team full of underclassmen. The same season West started a senior laden team coming off a regional semifinal appearance and we won 4 games. Last year we won 5. You can't have it both ways. Talent is talent. Experienced talent is great. But a low talent level is average whether they are sophomores or seniors.

The point was trying to be made that this is his first head coach job and I get where they are coming from. Mark Synder was a superior defensive coordinator and couldn't get the same success as a head coach. I believe the folks aren't putting your new coach down. They just haven't played any games yet. I am sure this fella will do a good job. Putting down the previous staff is counterproductive and creates a lot of dysfunction, something West seems to year in and year out create for themselves. They did a solid job at West. Before you go jumping me, this is my opinion. I don't envy the guy, I wouldn't want to coach there.

This makes perfect sense. There is gonna be a learning curve. Especially with our schedule.

But this hasn't been the case with a few posters on here. Instead of saying "they are inexperienced and there will be a learning curve" or something like that and being somewhat supportive since they say they are West fans. Right...

They have done nothing but pick and spin things to cause termoil whether it be the process or the hired coaches. Especially one assistant whom it is very obvious it is personal.

And one other thing. As far as the previous staff. Posters on here have been very respectful of them for the most part. But when you continue to dig and dig that's what you get. If your going to analyze and criticize the current, you have to bring up the past for comparison. That's just the way it works.

Good for the Coach if he wants to quit. But only 38 days to find a replacement it will be tuff.

38 days. That's tough. Rumor always was that he was gonna help his son get started here. But him resigning seems out of the blue. But if he doesn't have the passion anymore, he is doing the right thing. I would say he'll be involved in some capacity even if he isn't a coach. Just having a hall of fame coach with a great trust from your coach as an advisor or scout would be invaluable. Their loss is definitely our gain.

Maybe their AD should call Local Superstar.

Be a better fit than you. And I can spell. This will give his son a chance to beat LU especially quitting at the final hour. His record was 173-132.

The article stated that he did not want to Coach anymore but was going to continue to teach at LU. If he would come to West to help out I would think that would not hold well with the LU community. Especially since Mr. Johnson quitting on such short notice and leaving a senior group of kids hanging.

Maybe. You probably were a coach or a family member. That's why you've done nothing but complain for months.

So the guy is 41 games over.500. Been to playoffs 3 out of the last 6 years with 2 regional championships in that span. Not to mention kicked our behinds on our field last year. And your gonna throw his record out there like it's bad? Do you really wanna go there?

If only you had a brain. Did I say it was bad? Where? Or did you as.sume that? Everything I said is true. You are so sensitive and whine a lot. and most of what you say doesn't make much sense.
