Chiefs will play Coal Grove at the Chesapeake event and Maysville I believe at the Route 40 classic per Coach Helber last week. Schedule is tough for sure with two games with Portsmouth and Warren, Unioto, a solid Sheridan team, road games at Lancaster and Bloom Carroll, at Watkins Memorial, St Charles, Teays Valley and Vinton County. YIKES!! Gotta bring the "A" game each and every night!! The Chiefs have well documented size and a solid Point Guard in Lane Little. Sam Evans is a guy that needs to play with his emotions in check; if he can become a ying to Little's yang Logan will have solid depth. Logan should be very athletic this season with Cox at the wing as well. Kid can shoot and attack the rim. Flush that Fisher offense with him shooting 3's down the drain IMO; get the big kid around the basket to make plays. Smith has gotten a lot bigger since the last time he was on the hardwood, I like his physicality and could be an ALL SEOAL 3 man i think if he plays up to his potential. Im excited to see how well Logan can play this season but they will need to gel early with Unioto, Portsmouth and Lancaster right out of the gate.

Chiefs will be without Lane Little at PG for the opening game vs Unioto on Dec 6th due to the football ejection ? … The Shermans were going to be tough enough WITH "all hands on deck" BUT now without Little running the floor game ? will be a tough one vs the SVC favorite UHS boyz for sure …

Half way done with football already and round ball is just around the corner. I feel the Chiefs will have to win 13-16 game in order for the current program to survive!
Football is over! Still feel the Chiefs must win at least 13 game for the staff to survive! Go Chiefs!

myself and a hand full of parents went up. varsity played pretty good. they went 3-3, the defense looked good. offenseively.... when they are clicking..... look out! they pushed the ball up the and looked really good in transition. experience and toughness will help this bunch.
the jv's ....... well not sure what is going on there.... they are hurting before they get on the floor. only 1 play over 6'. canal had 2 kids that where 6'3"+ and atleast 2 or 3 more over 6'. turnovers really hurt... i stopped counting after 30. logan jv can get out and push the ball up the floor if they dont turn the ball over and are a scrappy bunch.

… thanks 1987chieftains … I haven't had chance to speak with Coach Helber at school this week to get his take on the scrimmage … the Purple will need to come out of the gate clicking as they take on a very good Unioto squad followed by Portsmouth in the games 1 & 2 to open the season … BOTH of these teams are picked to win their leagues (SVC & SEOAL/OVC) … it will hurt BIG not having Lane Little on the court in game #1 due to that suspension in football …

In my opinion if there isn't more success this year than last year, they have to start the search to bring someone in.
Boy's looking at the schedule the chiefs will have trouble winning at least 12 games this year! I got the feeling as the season progress the heat will get hotter!

Logan will benefit from the dissolution of the SEOAL in the long run. It's too hard to get a massive number of attractive applicants for sports such as basketball when you're making trips to Portsmouth, Gallipollis, Washington County, etc Inevitably, I think the MSL is going to take Logan sometime.

Good news for the Chieftain faithful - looks like starting PG Lane Little will be able to play in the first regular season game vs Unioto on Dec 6th after all … LL sat out the last game of the season in football and will fulfill the local/school district rule involving sitting out a game by not participating in the Foundation Game vs Nelsonville York Tuesday night 11/26 in Logan … good to hear imo as I hate to see another sport - in this case basketball - being penalized for a an act that took place on the football field … Coach Helber has a number of players sitting out the Foundation game Tuesday night for a variety of reasons - so don't look for LHS to be going a full strength until the regular season Dec 6th …

… due to the ice on Saturday morning the Purple did not make the trip to Granville for scrimmages … not sure if Coach Helber will pick up another scrimmage before next Saturday …

Don't jump the gun P Floyd on the suspension issue. It isn't a school/ dist. policy that's been broken. It is a OSHAA rule. Even if Little set out the foundation game Logan better check with OSHAA to see if he can play. As per general rules section 1.11 a foundation game is not considered a (regular) season game it is considered a scrimmage and will not count for or against your record. A team may only have 22 regular season games on schedule. Just saying

Yea that just like in football foundation do not count! But with OSHAA you never know they are the Lord and Master!
