Re: Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio- Final Editi
So, what do these ppd do to the follow up games? Here in AZ we just had our state finals in classes yesterday. We do not have the one and done like Ohio, though I sure wish we did.
Re: Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio- Final Editi

Re: Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio- Final Editi
Pfloyd- your boy Mason McCloy posted a double-double in his Convo debut (22 and 10) but was outshined by his sophomore teammate Anthony McFadden (31 and 8) while fellow junior Clay Stratton posted a double double of his own (19 and 11) The Bearcats were very impressive in their 84-47 W over South Webster tonight. All 3 of them will return next year, as well as 6'8 (incoming) freshman Dylan Swingle as well, which would take huge pressure off of McCloy if he's able to play.
Obviously, they are still in it this year and want their first district title since 1962!
Oh yeah and I should mention that it was Coach Dave Shoemaker's 100th career win. Shoe has had an interesting coaching career, this is his 9th season at PV, but that's been spread out over 20+ years with a stop in the Caribbean as the National Coach at one of their small nations.

Re: Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio- Final Editi
… the Convo NEVER disappoints ! got to see 4 great ball games today … I know there were 5 games I missed game #1 - was given a multiple choice quiz by Mrs. Pfloyd this morning a) go to breakfast with the wife or b) go to a 10 am game at the Convo where I would be til 10 pm … I had taken this quiz before AND was wrong on my choice … I learned from my previous mistakes, I chose door number 1 "a" and went to breakfast with Mrs Pfloyd …
… Game #2
South Gallia 58
Peebles 66
Game #3
Lucasville Valley 66
Coal Grove 65
Game #4
Portsmouth 66

Valley 66
Coal Grove 65 final
… Valley went 12/16 from the FT line in the 4th … Jordan West had 10 in the final period for Valley … the OVC has nothing to be ashamed of after today's action -for conference which was labeled "down" this season ALL 5 teams (Chesapeake/Coal Grove/Fairland/South Point & Portsmouth) were deserving of playing in the Convo … Valley got the "members bounce" when they tied the game on the technical foul & Hayden Dunn bucket in the paint … CG had the opportunity to go into OT when they called & executed the best inbounds play 94 feet from their own bucket … 93dog and I both looked at each other and said "brilliant!" … the opportunity was there to go OT with the D3 POY Hayden Dunn on the bench for VHS … not to be Valley 66 CG 65 final
Portsmouth 66
South Point 57 final
… revenge is best served on a 94 ft basketball court … the Trojans erased the 58-76 loss to the Pointers with tonights "W" … in the game PHS/SP combined for 22/45 from behind the 3 point line (49%) … Portsmouth 10/22 and South Point 12/23 … the Trojans trailed 49-53 heading into the 4th , the PHS D held SP to 4 points in the last quarter while hitting for 17 … Kyre Allison 25 points, Oliver 19, Lisath 12 … only 8 turnovers on the game for PHS … Portsmouth 66 South Point 57 final

REGIONAL MATCH-UPS, DATES AND TIMES FOR NEXT WEEK ..... http://trivalleyconference.com/Convo.html
Re: Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio- Final Editi
Logan Elm should be the post-final edition No. 1. :122249
Re: Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio- Final Editi
… 2 MORE great games played at the Convo this afternoon both D3 match ups :
Fairland 50
Wheelersburg 52 final
Portsmouth 55
Lucasville Valley 58 final
… Fairland 50 vs Wheelersburg 52 … Fairland battled shorthanded the whole contest as the undersized Dragons almost pulled out the "W" vs the Burg … neither team were raining threes as between the 2 teams only 17 treys were attempted and only 3 hit their mark …the only quarter break lead that Coach Speeds squad enjoyed the lead at the end of was the first as FHS led 8-4 all other breaks belonged to the Pirates of Coach Ater including the one that counts at the end of the 4th Pirates 52 Dragons 50 a final …
… a few Pfloyd Official "unofficial" Napkin Stats …
Wheelersburg
Scoring … Dylan Miller 21,Tyler Claxson 9, JD Widdig 6, Camron Parsley/Jacob Spradlin 5 each, Austin May 4, Carmichael 2
3 Pointers … 1/8 … Miller 1
FTs … 17/24
TOs … 12
Fairland
Scoring … Thayer Flyn 11, Luke Phillips 11, Jacob Warner 7, Nathan Campbell 7, Evan Maddox 5, Chance Short 5, Tyler Campbell 4
3 Pointers … 2/9 … Short 1, Warner 1
FTs … 11/16
TOs … 10
… great effort by a team that had on the floor 5-10, 5-7, 5-8, 5-10, 5-10 the best part of a quarter plus battling AND my guess out rebounded the Pirates of Wheelersburg … Nathan Campbell makes my all district team just on effort alone … the kid is not in the offensive schemes , he takes a beating in the paint for 4 quarters - giving it all up for TEAM , pounds the boards at 5-8 better than most much bigger players down low , Nathan is a tenacious defender - quick feet , even quicker hands … Nathan has a place on my team any day for the week - outstanding … Flyn, Maddux, Campbell, Warner, Phillips … those of us in the cheap seats noticed the effort, give me 5 players who are undersized but have the heart of champions as these young men show every game and you end up as the Dragons did today knocking at the door of a District Championship … we cheap seat guys thank you all …
Valley 58 Portsmouth 55 … WOW … all of the talk on the boards has been directed at the D2 championship matchup BUT the "locals" had their eyes set on this one in D2 Lucasville Valley vs Portsmouth … the matchup , the game , the TEAMS didn't disappoint … great game , 2 great teams standing toe to toe taking their opponents shots for 4 quarters … look at the quarter breaks : tied 13-13 after one … Valley 35 Portsmouth 32 at intermission … VHS 47 PHS 46 end of three … game tied at 55-55 after a Kyre Allison drive and dish to freshman Kendall Reynolds for the tie ... with 18.9 seconds remaining Valley ball … clock runs down as Valley went into the perimeter weave … last man to touch the ball was Chris Flowers left of the key (Reynolds had 4 threes on the game as the clock drew down) … Flowers with no hesitation lifted up just as he had on his previous 4 threes … same result nothing but net … last team with the ball wins … Valley 58 Portsmouth 55 final …
… some Pfloyd Official "unofficial" Napkin Stats …
Portsmouth
Scoring … Isaiah Lisath 14, Kyre Allison 14, Hunter Gibson 9,Kendall Reynolds 7, Alex Dickerson 6, Sky Oliver 5
3 Pointers … 8/21 … Lisath 4, Dickerson 2, Oliver 1, Reynolds 1
FTs … 3/4 …
TOs … 10
… the 3/4 from the FT line was a big surprise to me after the game … as much quickness, speed to get into the paint that PHS has on the floor AND to NOT have gone to the line more is amazing to me … Valley did a great job disrupting shots in the paint and/or not putting the Trojans on the line … Great season for the youngsters from PHS , they will be back and going deeper into the tourney next season … are we talking dual league championships next year for PHS (OVC & SEOAL) / Sectional, District, Regional And beyond ???? it would not be surprising in the D3 world …
Valley
Scoring … Chris Flowers 17, Hayden Dunn 15, Bryan Rolfe 9, Ryan Brown 9, Jordan West 4,, Zach Shope 3, Ethan Holbrook 1
3 Pointers … 8/18 … Flowers 5, Shope 1, Dunn 1, Brown 1
FTs … 6/11
TOs … 6
… great game by the Indians … never backdown from the the PHS quickness, never flinched when the Trojans were hitting a run of treys … that's what good teams do take the blows and dish out blows of their own … PHS had 8 three pointers - the Indians covered the 8 treys including getting the last one on the LAST shot for the game by Flowers … I was impressed with the TO total on the game only 6 with one of those being a player control foul … only 5 TOs vs the quickness of PHS - PERFECT … Congratulations to the Indians , best of luck this week in regional action Pfloyd will be in the cheap seats for the run …

There's a little ball club from Chillicothe that won 20 games and returns 95% of their scoring, including their top 8 out of their 9 man rotation from this year that might have something to say about that.93Bulldog wrote:2014-2015
