ironman, I would add whteoak's Jeremy stacy and Jordon kibler to that list. also doug hauke was a pretty good shooter. dj iles at Fayetteville is a good shooter as well. going way back cluxton at Lynchburg. also cory copas was a good shooter for north adams and cox from west union.

When I saw Stacy during those amazing tournament runs he was drilling those corner shots but I remember him driving the baseline and somehow finishing seemingly every time, regardless of the defense trying to stop him. He was unbelievable those 2 postseasons.

Kibler was pretty smooth as a shooter. Cory was excellent as well.

Many great players mentioned here. I have saw them all play and none are as pure and have the range of Evans or French in my opinion.

Sean Smith - Minford 2009
Stefan Spriggs - Northwest 2009
Jarrod Swords - Portsmouth West 2005
Joey Preston - Minford 2005
Josh Campbell - South Webster 2007
Drew Spradlin - Wheelersburg 2010?
Ryan Borden - Oak Hill not sure of grad year
Are we naming the best shooters or giving shout outs to friends?

I could see Spradlin and if you are talking SOC, possibly Smith, but come on with the rest of these.
sounds like his intramural team. But smith and Spradlin could shoot it. Gagai from ironton could flat shoot it from anywhere.

IndianFan4life wrote:Beau Justice from Peebles. This kid is knocking down 22 footers with pressure on every shot. Just has a natural form that is flawless. IMO he is a better shooter than his brother Blake was.
I've seen Beau hit 15-20 in a row multiple times in practice/shootaround. The kid is smooth. He is shooting about 45% from 3 so far this season while being double teamed constantly on the wing. I agree about the Blake point. Blake was/is an awesome shooter also but he had the benefit of Andrew Seaman/Andy Countryman/Jake Daniels/Trent Arey who were guys who made double teaming any one player a death sentence. Cody Ireton's emergence as a lights out shooter as the year has went on has helped to relieve a little bit of the pressure on Beau though and I think teams going forward will be less and less able to put that kind of emphasis on any one player in our system. This will be especially true of next year's team.

Justice, both of them, can shoot it. Very smooth releases. You might even add Trustan Detty from southeasten to the list, he could shoot it pretty good.

OHSAA does not have Engle listed above 40 percent for career 3 point percentage.

Brett Roberts (Webster '88)up there for sure...averaged 28 ppg his senior year at Morehead State. Remember seeing him play a few years later on Sundays. Ball just sounded different when it went through the net.*

Brett Roberts, Trevor Setty, Beau Justice top 3 IMO had what it takes to play beyond High School and could do it under Extreme pressure. Have seen the other Justice kid struggle with a good hand in his face although still top 7 Ive seen personally, others may have been good too just havent seen them in person so cant make a comparison.

I'll stay with the Eastern theme... (my cousin) Mark Cochenhour.. For a big guy he had great range and touch. He could light it up! If there were a three pt. line back in the early to mid eightes he would have racked even more points.
What about Arnold King.

Eric Mount- Lynchburg
Kyle Stout- Eastern Brown
Cam Miller/Cowgill- Wheelersburg

Lear McCoy- Peebles, not a phenomenal overall player but one of the best spot shooters to play in SHL, some others that fit that category would be Rex Woodward (Ripley-Southwest) and Kevin Hoover (Eastern Brown). Jeremy Stacy was automatic, just needed time.

I agree that any list without PJ Rase, Brett Beucler, and RJ Beucler are crazy!

........................and that my friends is the ugly truth
