17 threes - wow - they were coming down like the snow last night - pouring ! ... D2 Minford's ONLY losses are to Valley (besides the exhibition game in their first game) ... Valley's ONLY losses are to D2 Warren/Athens ... this is going to be fun to watch in both D2 and D3 action coming up c_coop LOL ...
Re: Minford @ Valley 2/14

I know that the talk has been about the 3 teams in the Logan D2 Sectional BUT my guess and it is ONLY a guess mind you (he says sarcastically) - Minford/Unioto/Washington CH etc will ALL be more than a challenge come Basketball Thirty at the Convo ... I'm ready !!!! took out a loan to get the concessions at the Convo ... my Cheap Seat at the West end is reserved and ready to go ... let's tip em off!!!!

Re: Minford @ Valley 2/14
This is the first chance I have had to post about the game last night.... There are not a lot of words that can describe it.
First off, the atmosphere was unreal. The crowd started pouring in and was overflowing as we were trying to finish our last D3 girls final game. After the crowd finally finished filing in, the Valley senior night took place. It was a very bittersweet event for me. I have watched these kids grow up and knowing it was the final time they would take the floor at our school was sad. However, what they gave us that final time out, was something that will live on for a long time.
There is no need for me to talk about plays as my boy coop did the play by play. As far as the games played by the Indian players, you have to start with Chris Flowers. That kid came to play last night and he was outstanding. 13 points in the first half and then our first 8 in the first overtime to keep the Indians in it. He was spectacular shooting the ball, especially at the line. Hayden Dunn came through in another epic battle with Jared McCray. Hayden fought foul trouble late and did his thing. Jordan West continued his trend of hitting huge shots against Minford. That kid has done it time and time again against the Falcons. Last night was no different and he threw in 12+ rebounds for good measure. Bryan Rolfe did not have his normal productive game offensively, but with the Indians up 1 in the 2nd ot, he wanted the ball and buried a huge three that gave us a lead that we would never relinquish. Zach Shope has taken the Valley defense to an entirely different level. His ball pressure is outstanding! I don't care anyone else's opinion, Zach is the best on ball defender in the SOC! Ryan Brown and Ethan Clark-Holbrook came off the bench and both had huge buckets in the overtimes. Just a great job all the way around.
I would like to add that Minford is a very good basketball team. They have a little bit of everything. A great post player, some very quick guards, and a couple of guys with length. The Falcons can matchup with anyone. It has been a pleasure to watch these two teams lock horns big time over the last 3 years. I think Minford can make some noise in the D2 tournament.
