When its all said and done Bishop Watterson and Wheeling Park may be state champions in Ohio and West Virginia.

Warren could have just as easily been 17-1 (had it not played them) - with the lone loss coming to a team (Portsmouth) which it later avenged.
And if VC played Wellston 22 times, they'd be 22-0! The point is ONE of those 17 wins were against the Athens Bulldogs.

So the 1-point win by LE over Athens (one win) is somehow more relevant than Warren's win over Hartley? Warren's win over Valley? Athens and Valley played to double overtime, I'm guessing a win over Valley is the same as a LE win over Athens. Or how about Warren's win over Portsmouth.

Its a head to head game against the same team in the sectional. It does hold more weight imo.

So if Warren had BEAT Bishop Watterson - Logan Elm's win over Athens would carry more weight, huh?

I don't think so.

They didn't. So its not even a discussion. We should be the 1 seed because we lost to good teams doesn't hold much water.

Fyi-
Bloom Carroll also beat Hartley... and LE dominated BC.

So, While any win over Cols Hartley is a good win - this puts it into perspective.

So a win over Bishop Watterson would matter ... but a win over Hartley does not?

I'm trying to figure this out. In one breath you say Logan Elm is deserving of the No. 1 seed - but in the next you say Sheridan/VC did what was best for them (meaning they wanted to play LE.)

How can Logan Elm be 'deserving' of the No. 1 seed when you feel other teams in the sectional are better?

That's like talking out of both sides of your mouth ... which you're right, that would be great for the sportsfan - more talking from anyone other than me is a good thing ...

Its pick your poison dog. Schedule up and lose 3 or 4 games or schedule down and lose 1? Obviously the latter is the better choice.

Match up wise dog! Vc obviously thinks they match up to LE better than Athens or Warren. That doesn't mean they're the worst team if the three. You know how match ups work. Also Logan elm won 17 games and Beat an Athens team that many feel like could make it to the final four in college basketball lol. That's worth a LOT!

Match-up my a** ... every other team in the sectional would have done the same as VC/Sheridan if they were in the 4/5 ... and it has nothing to do with match-ups.

Come on now, at least be honest Dundas. :-)

VC lost to Athens twice this year and had trouble with lack of height against them. Logan elm doesn't have as much height. We match up better against them physically. That's not saying they are worse than Athens because we all know they were good enough to beat them this year. :)

I'll let you in on a little secret Dundas ... Vinton County could have walked into McAfee on Dec. 14th and beat Athens - seriously.

You keep talking about the 60-59 win by LE as impressive - or a quality win - over Athens. I see it as the opposite. Logan Elm should have won by 12 or 15 as bad as the Bulldogs were right after football season. That game was a see-saw battle, back and forth, and either team could have won. A great team would have waxed Athens that night. Heck, they just beat Wellston by 15 points the night before. 15? The next time Athens stepped onto the floor with Wellston they were up by 30 early in the 2nd half before winning 69-40.

You're hanging your hat on a win over wellston?? Please dog :) lol VC was flat terrible early in the season btw. They are much much better now..same as everyone that isn't fighting injuries. Logan elm may be the 4th best team in the sectional but one thing is for sure.. no matter who plays who ..in whatever round.. the best team will represent southeast Ohio. Weather that's Logan Elm, Athens, Warren, Unioto, WCH, Miami Trace and so on. I can't wait to get this thing going!

Dundas, this is all I can say; the seeding is exactly what I thought it would be, although I thought Athens would be the 2 and Warren the 3 seed. Now, some people can spin it to benefit their argument but there are two facts that are undeniable; first, Logan Elm had the best record in this sectional (again, perceived strength of schedule is spin) and two, Logan Elm beat Athens on THEIR home floor (can't spin that). To me that is an impressive resume. It sounds like to me that the dog and others had their bags packed for Value City Arena but have come to the realization that may not get out of Jim Myers Gymnasium.

No, no ... my hotel reservation in Columbus is for next year ... :-)

But, to say I didn't want to see (what I think are the two best teams in the southeast district) play for a district championship would be a lie.

Its all good though ... Things will get figured out ... Play winnable games, go into the draw with an impressive record and get the No. 1 seed ... it's simple ... I don't want what happened to Warren this year happen to Athens next season.

The fact of the matter is: scheduling Watterson and Wheeling Park cost Warren the No. 1 seed.

If the defending district champions, the defending regional champ - with all its players back - had gone 17-1 it would not have been denied the 1 seed. Especially if they avenged their only loss (which they did by beating Portsmouth in the rematch).

They tried playing Watterson and Wheeling Park - and it cost them big time!

So the answer is: don't do it. Don't take the risk. All that matters in the Logan sectional is overall record. Schedule a WCH or a Chillcothe? Sure. But don't go trying to play teams like ASVSM or Watterson.

No doggie, it does matter. That strength of schedule you hang your hat on has prepare you for this tourney run. The Bulldogs will use those experiences in the districts and beyond. Well, that is if you guys get there.

That is the answer...if your only goal is to win your sectional. Maybe Warren has higher goals than yours
