Re: New Marietta Coach
Jason Schob is the guy from what I have been told. Wish him success, except when he plays Warren of course.
Re: New Marietta Coach
Man if DeVol does not get the job Lehman is going to be some kind of mad. The two of them have been planning this for months starting when Lehman bribed the old coach to quit....fact.

Re: New Marietta Coach
They don't need some old washed up coach I know Devol is great but what Marietta needs is a young coach like Jason Schob that will get new kids excited to come out and play. This is a total rebuild and in my opinion not a spot for Devol.

What a joke we have become! I guess we want to continue to lose. If DeVol seriously wanted it and they still gave it to the young kid??????? Give me a break. We also thought we nailed it with our new basketball coach too......... lol
Wish the kids the best of luck and hopefully they play and work hard no matter who the coach is.

They need to get them one of those insurance salesmen. That worked in the past didn't it?journeyman8675309 wrote:What a joke we have become! I guess we want to continue to lose. Re: New Marietta Coach
Springer won everywhere except Marietta but sure failed at that job along with the last four coaches. He was a bad fit for us. We won a lot years ago but can't do it now. Wrong league, some crazy parents with All American sons who have always fizzled except when playing light weight schedules. We need to hire a real coach or maybe give it to one of the crazy dads who have all of the skills. I really am lost on this one and I worry about us.

They should have spent more resources to try to coax Phil down there. If they don't give up I think they can still get him for the right price. Man can flat out coach. That's what I'm saying.

They may be smart enough to hire him too if they have a basketball opening. Too late for "coons." He has been reached out to by your buddies. I think Phil is still available though. Is Schob's dad who works at Warren going to join his staff, or will Schob coach on the staff at Warren, or coach at all?

Re: New Marietta Coach
I know it is late in the game, but coaches have been hired in June and July before. Is this ideal? No. Is the sky falling? I don't believe so.
Re: New Marietta Coach
You are right Howdy but were they hired so late because of an administration's foot dragging or was it because someone left or was pushed out? The longer you wait the harder it is to put a quality staff together and you are bound to lose some kids with each passing week----let alone month.
It is hardly fair to your players to wait so long. Just my opinion.
