I was told that Valley does play PHS again this year and looking to have the game on Thursday. Ohsaa having PHS and Johnstown Monroe is a mistake on OHSAA. IDK, Just be happy to see the VHS-PHS game continue

Valley-Portsmouth isn't going anywhere.

Looks like the Thursday thing is a real possibility. That would be an awesome season kickoff.

I like the series. Win win for both schools. I liked the Saturday night game and I think the "possible" Thursday night game will be just as good.

There isn't a lot to talk about right now, Oaf.

We have things going pretty good so no need to complain about our offense.
Our logo isn't changing.
Our coaching staff is all coming back.
Our stadium isn't half put together.
We aren't dropping to SOC I.

What is there to talk about?

Although we have made a change and went to the flat-mat purple helmet and our face masks will appear to change color under the Friday Night Lights, but other than that, we are doing just fine out by the prison....

No news is good news on the reservation....

Headed to Burg back to back years is tough, but the Indians will be in the thick of things.

How many years did they get out of the original turf? It was getting to be in pretty bad shape

Not sure about how accurate but Wikipedia says we got it in 2000 and was the first school in Ohio to get it maybe one of the earliest in America

8/29/2003 first home game on that turf in Valley. How do I know, we Piketon went there in Coach Gullions first year and took a drubbing by the Indians! lol

They were still putting the final touches that Friday night before warm ups.

I know it wasnt there in 2000. The stadium opened in 2000, and it was a grass surface.

We got 11 years out of that playing surface. The new FieldTurf will be installed by mid July.

Is the new stuff expected to last longer? 11 years doesn't seem like much of a return on the investment, especially if it isn't being used to generate revenue like hosting neutral field playoff games.
