SOC 2 - What's your predictions?

Post by toast »

It's just around the corner! The league should be strong once again.

Will Minford repeat as league champs? They return the most dominate pitcher in the league. Who else could challenge the falcons this season?

Valley should be very good once again. Got a very good player that transferred in from Waverly to add to an already good team. Minford vs Valley should be fun to watch this year.

Cant count out Burg. New coach will have them focused and ready . Valley is very strong also. lots of experience. Minford won a TON of one run games last season, might not be so fortunate this time around , but having that ace in the circle helps.

Agree..Burg should be good as well. How does everyone see West doing this season?

Could this be Waverly's year? They sweep West and Burg last year and lost a couple of very close games to Minford. Both one run games I believe. Valley has had their number lately.

The Tigers return a solid nucleus with lots of young talent. Pitching is probably the big question as the enter the season.

Waverly is definitely a team that could beat any other team. They are a talented and resilient team....we've had many battles with them (and Minford)

I'm just against transferring unless a parent gets transferred.

Yo, of Minford's 17 wins last season, the Falcons only had 4-one run games (Notre Dame, Burg, Waverly and West), not a TON as mentioned previously. Minford should be able to pick up solid wins this season, look to repeat at SOC II Champions and make a great tournament run.
Go Falcons!

Minford is the team to beat….no doubt there. Any idea how many seniors they had in the starting line-up last year?

I'm obviously an SVC person, but I am somewhat familiar with many of the SOC 2 teams. As the defending champ, Minford may have an edge. However, Ward at Valley certainly helps their cause. New coach may inspire Wheelersburg and their roster is definitely talented enough to make a run! Waverly losing Ward certainly does not help their cause and with young pitching, not sure they can make a run at those top 3. West can and will compete, but I still give the edge to the top 3! Unoficially, I will say 1. Valley, 2. Wheelersburg, 3. Minford!

Minford graduated one senior last year in Elizabeth Brisker. The Falcons will field about four seniors in the upcoming season. Can't wait till March.

Wards transfer was based on job transfer and ageing family members who reside close by their location. With that being said im pretty sure OHSAA rule 4-7-2 states its completely legit to transfer (without seeking iron man approval) with bona fide resident change.
Simply put it wasn't her decision to make and she would play wherever her parents would have moved.
Funny how nothing was said when she recieved conference awards in volleyball but now that softball is around the corner the mouths start running off.
Good luck to all the teams and hopefully everyone has fun without any injuries.
Several great teams and young ladies here in s.ohio and hopefully we get one up to Akron this year.

With Messer at the helm and comming off his suspension from Ohsaa for cheating wouldn't suprise me if the transfer is illigal. Him and his umpire buddy Dillow is crooked as they come!

I was speaking in general terms of transferring....not meaning to single out 1 player. I shouldn't have assumed why the transfer but I did and apologize. As for the volleyball comment....I first saw it on here 3 months after volleyball way over. She's an excellent player that IMO gives Valley the edge over Minford.

Valley
Minford
Burg

Solid league as usual
