this is wattersons schedule. though they have had 2 losses , it's against a div. 2 and a d1 team. wheelersburg is by far the smallest team they play. and with school's on the horizon like cleveland Benedictine,columbus bishop Hartley, hilliard Bradley, Columbus saint Charles, Dublin Jerome, and Columbus saint francis desales. they play beastly teams every week. actually the Watterson team is likely looking at this game as a get well week. as a week to heal up, get well, and beat a southern ohio team that they look down upon. ----------------------------------------------------- that is the general concensus of the thinking of the northern teams and coaches. but ole bait thinks this is a game that burg CAN WIN, but it's gonna be a tall task indeed. personally I think burg takes one on the chin here, that won't affect their playoff chances a bit. I'd like to see them win this, I really would. but I have my doubts, I'd love to be wrong here. ------------------ I'd love to see a southern ohio team go there and kick their rear. I think burg has to get the pipe dreams out of their head about scoring so quickly they anticipate a running clock on the eagles. and concentrate on playing smart, and innovative to possibly beat Watterson, and win the turnover battle. it's impressive the burg kicked a 43 yarder in the rain. if burg can stay close that may win a game for them in a pinch.

I hope watterson is looking at this as a "get well" pushover game.. burg scheduled this game knowing it is a tall task..... I don't see any burg fans calling for a running clock. Stop babbling so much on here just to get your post count up.

Does Burg have a good kicker now that the Lewis brothers are finally out? Seen in the highlight video, BW kicker made a nice FG. Looked like he has a good leg. If this game is a defensive battle, special teams could be the deciding factor. Burg has always excelled in that area but not sure what they have now.

The Burg kicker booted a 43 yarder in the rain last week against Fairland. He has the leg to make a kick if need be.


Burg just needs to go out and play there style of ball. No need to change things up. Make them stop you first on what you have been successful on so far. If they double team Holden than someone else will have to make a play. My guess is the TE will be open all night down the middle if they double Tanner. Carmichael just might have a field day catching the ball.

Interesting enough. I checked out MaxPreps and the BW Kicker is a Lefty (like Burgs), and he has a post where he kicked a 43-yard field goal in the first game this year LOL. Two lefty kickers Friday! Could be pretty even if it comes to Special Teams.

Has anyone noticed the school songs of the teams that Burg has played thus far? Russell, Fairland and Heath all have the same school song as Wheelersburg! Although the Burg Band does much better and has been playing the song much, much more than the other teams during the games.

Ole bait, this game is just like years gone by when ironton was in their prime for so long. Burg getting a chance to play a bigger maybe better team. Good yard stick but I think everyone needs to remember, this game came about because both teams had an open date. Heath last week cause Portsmouth dropped us and north college hill was done. Not like we went looking for each other. Just happened. Maybe ad for burg thought we could compete with BW, heck we play Jackson next week. Either way, I think the coaches for burg will be ready for this game. Defensively, we can compete. Offensively, we need to adjust to the way they try to take out our weapons in Holden, dyer and lowery. I look for some adjustments in our TE's to see if we can get some passes to them. May take a Lil time to see it but I think they will play a huge role. U can count on trick plays also. The kicker for burg is not as good as Lewis so look for being conservative when we kick off. Or maybe not lol. My concern is run blocking. We have had some good luck but I'm anxious to see how we get better this week. We can't be 1 dimensional. They will eat us alive. Good luck to DA BURG!!!!! I know the kids will play hard and not quit!!! And as for the chance Urban Meyer comes to watch the game, I would take and bench a player that doesn't do his reads and thinks he is a one man show just to impress. No I in TEAM!
