Hopefully Athens gets over the hump this year and makes state. Marion Franklin lost everyone but they'll recruit in a lot of kids

Keep in mind when you have a 'quick strike' offense and score like Athens does - the defense sees almost twice as many possession than most teams/units during the course of game.

I liked what I saw from a very young defense, especially late in the year. The sophomores up front really started to come into their own down the stretch. They will be bigger, stronger and faster next year and you will see vast improvements on that side of the ball.

Marion Franklin not really known for "recruiting" but look for them to be solid with last years underclassmen stepping up. My guess is Tri Valley, Chillicothe, and New Philly equally solid. DeSales was young last year and barely missed an 8 seed mainly due to not playing 10 games, with only a 9 game season. You never know may be a darkhorse in the Region not to far from you on State Rt 32 that sneaks into the playoffs as well :122246

HA!

Would love to get an Athens-Jackson match-up in the 1st round.

I have 1 dinner in the bag already from Ironman02 ... I am about to get another next Monday when the girls visit Jackson ... a 3rd dinner would be terrific; nothing like going out to eat and leaving the wallet at home.

lol

Would like to see this series continue for a long time . Athens has the horses now but the future games vs Jackson may not get the same results

Heard Athens vs Ironton is still not 100%. Ad for Athens sounded like Ironton would rather only play 9 games

It would shock me if Ironton would agree to play the dogs. Dogs are too much for the tigers

Joe Burrow up to 6 D1 offers - the latest from Cincinnati.

Where does he play after next year? Any guesses?

They must not subscribe to paladin's southeast Ohio scouting magazine.

The good news is that he has over a year to decide or commit.

The bad news is (for all the teams having to play him and Athens) that he has over a year to decide lol.

I want to see Burrow, Williams, Ryan Luehrman - and Swarzel (who is already there) end up playing for the Bobcats!

But that's just me being selfish.

What about Ryan Luerhman - 6'4 wide out who can catch anything thrown his way. Will he get D1 offers?

it will come down to what kind of 40 time he can run ... He either needs to (a) get faster to be a WR ... or (b) gain weight and become a pass catching TE.

One thing is for certain - the 'hands' are there.

6 includes Fresno State who was offer #5.

Ohio
Toledo
Western Michigan
Central Michigan
Fresno State
Cincinnati

I sure plenty more will come soon and throughout the summer and likely into the season making predicting where he may play nearly impossible at this point in time.

You are correct 93, the scout.com evaluation on both Luerhman boys eluded to both having a lot of athleticism and the frames to all weight allowing for the potential to change positions. Both are very good blockers on the edge which would lead one to believe the switch to TE could be possible. Adam is a very good long snapper and Ryan a really good punter to boot( pun intended). Ryan really came on strong at the safety position this year while Adam was among the leaders in special teams tackles (and there were certainly plenty of those this year) which could add special teams value to both. I think ultimately both will have to hit the summer camp scene this year if they want a real chance to play at the next level. But don't overlook the fact that 6'4" athletic kids don't grow on trees either or every team would be filled with them.

I would be surprised if Burrow doesn't get at least offers from Indiana, Northwestern, Purdue, Minnesota and those type of schools in the Big Ten. Burrow is a pretty good quarterback.
