Former Bellaire, Kent State and Arena League QB Jose Davis submitted his resignation today as Big Reds football coach.
His Bellaire teams went 27-25, including playoff appearances the past two years.
Davis' 2013 team started 1-2, but rebounded to win the 3A division of the OVAC and the Buckeye 8 league.
Bellaire finished 7-4 after losing to Newark Catholic in the playoffs.
Davis led Bellaire to back-to-back state title games in the 90's - losing in 3 OT to Versailles, and then to Germantown Valley View the next.
Jose Davis steps down @ Bellaire
Re: Jose Davis steps down @ Bellaire
From what I understand, Jose lives in Pittsburgh currently so it may not be viable to continue coaching at Bellaire.
Although, after the Newark Catholic game, he was caught tweeting at NC female students and players. This was probably the worst thing he said on Twitter. That may have been a thumb pressing on his back, publicly interacting with teen girls on social media and starting trouble which in turn makes you a poor representation of the Bellaire community will always be wrong.

Re: Jose Davis steps down @ Bellaire
Yep, that's pretty stupid.
I bet the NC students got a big laugh when their team riled up the opposing coach so bad he had to resort to a tweet.

Re: Jose Davis steps down @ Bellaire
That's a shame, he was without a doubt one of the best QB's to ever come out of Ohio.
