Jackson 38

first boys game I've watched all year. The score is very deceiving. Jackson was right with them and even lead 36-30 near the end of the 3rd. Gallia was more athletic but my gosh they got the calls tonight. You'd never know the game was in Jackson. Nearly every borderline call went their way and numerous WTH calls. Both teams missed a ton of free throws but I think the final foul number was 21 for Jackson and 10 for gallia. Gallia had by far the most physical player on the court and he finished with 23 points and 0 fouls. He killed Jackson most all of the game.

Gallia is well coached and those kids played very hard but if I never see those refs again on the court I'll be ok with that.

You're referring to one of the higher rated officiating crews in Southeastern Ohio. That crew has 20 plus years of high school and even small college experience. I believe they even get regional and state games. The simple fact is that your looking at the game through biased eyes. Watch the whole game and the entire floor and you'll see that almost every call was spot on. Gallia did get most of the calls. But that was because they were bigger, quicker and more athletic. Gallia beat Jackson to almost every spot all night. Slower teams get to plays and loose balls late, and get more fouls called on them. That's basketball.
Jackson was in the game most of the night. Even had a 36-31 lead with about 2 minutes left in the third quarter. Neal led the way with 20 points. But Gallia went on a 16-0 run and the Ironmen scored 2 points in the last 10 minutes of the game. 16-0 runs don't come from referees. Sometimes you just have to "tip your cap" 'and just say that we got beat and quit blaming someone else.

Gallia Academy was quicker around most of the court and often did beat Jackson to the spot. Gallia Academy was the better basketball team and deserved to win....but I didn't walk away feeling that crew had a very good night at all.....but they didn't decide the game.

Jackson showed some good things tonight...hoping they can find a way to win sooner than later. They really need the confidence.

Good luck to the Gallia Academy kids and coach Harrison the rest of the way.
